Very aesthetically pleasing. Installation with no problems. We have had this gate for months now and the door closing/locking mechanism still works like new. This is much higher quality and blends in well with the aesthetic in our home. It is worth the few extra bucks!

Coming out of the box, it's heavy. Because it's metal with a plastic cover to give a wood appearance. But the wood appearance actually looks good, and the metal underneath is strong. This baby is not going to break!Installing it, without any tools, went easily. It's designed so that you put it into place, then cut a plastic belt, and there's tension to hold it in place. Then you tighten four knobs to really fasten it it.The gate opens well--you have to grip the top rail on the top and bottom, hard for a toddler to do, but really easy for an adult. And after you go through the gate swings shut and locks by itself, really handy if you have both hands full.It's been in place now for four days, and it's quite secure, hasn't moved a bit, and it working just great. This is a quality product.The only caution I'd make is to measure carefully. You do have some play, but make very sure that your opening is within the range of openings that the gate will handle. I made it by about 1/8 inch, so I came close to blowing it. I was lucky. So be super careful about your measuring.This is an update after a month of using it. The gate is still working perfectly, no problems at all, and the first impression of well thought-out design still stands. We have a puppy, so have three active baby gates in the house, and this is the best by far.

This was super easy to install (although the instructions were very limited, it was pretty self-explanatory), very sturdy, and the wood look matches our staircase perfectly so it’s not an eyesore.

Love the gate easy to assemble and looks great and works great… but extremely upset I can’t get 3 ugly stickers off. I have tried numerous things and even a blow dryer spent an hour trying and they are still there. The warning for a child getting injured if not assembled right I don’t have kids in this house or what it is made of I just really would like them off. So love gate very nice modern looking just dislike 3 stickers I can’t get off.

I have had a few of these as we have two dogs which we like to keep separated at times.This gate fits at the bottom of a staircase and what I like about this one is that the gate opening is z little wider than most and the frame doesn't need to have extenders on it if you have a typical staircase. Every time you add an extension, it makes a gate weaker and with this, you don't need to use them, again, on a typical staircase.We have dark mahogany wood for the staircase and the stain over the metal gate matches almost perfectly.Unfortunately, I can't show you a picture as the gate is not up now, otherwise you would see how well it matches and how good it looks.I also like the locking mechanism. If you open the door less than 90° then it will close after you and the magnetic mechanism will lock. If you open it 90° the gate will stay open which is nice option.

We've had this gate for 6 months, and it still works perfectly to keep my baby from climbing the steps. It is very steady and secure, even with my older kids continuously leaning on it and slamming it shut. It was super easy to install (we have a spiral railing, so we used the Y piece for that end and the regular wall cup for the wall end). I love the auto-close feature, it's great if your hands are full or if you're just passing by. We previously tried a wall-installed gate, which did not hold up to my older kids' use. Wish we had found this one first and saved us the holes in the wall.

My newly turned 2 year old son opened this gate within 30 seconds of seeing it. It wasn’t hard to figure out, especially for a toddler that likes to press buttons. The gate is pretty but probably not good for someone who plans to use it past the baby stage.

I have a unique stair set up where both sides of my stairs are railings. I really did not want to drill screws and mount a gate that would ruin the wood.I’ve purchased, tried, returned and even thrown away several gates and this gate is amazing. It was quick and easy to install. The pressure mount system with brackets that wrap around the rods of my railing made it super simple and sturdy.The gate is self close and swings both directions, which makes walking through the gate each time seamless. I now don’t have to worry about my little one falling or being inconvenienced by a bulky, hard to use gate.
