An Excellent Lens!!!
I hate the Amazon approach to product reviews. They allow countless misleading, bad or downright wrong reviews to proliferate but don't reward those that take the time and effort to provide an honest assessment of a product that they actually own. But ... I want to be able to provide consumers with some general guidance about the products that I buy, so I have to operate within their platform. It's a terrible system, but it's the ONLY system available, so, here's my review of the Fuji XC15-45mm 'kit' lens. The super-summary is ... this is an excellent lens. There are effectively two kit lenses for Fuji X series cameras, the XC 15-45mm and the much more expensive XF18-55mm. The 18-55 has a great reputation. It's pretty fast (f2.8) at wide'ish angle (18mm) and reasonable (f4) when zoomed in. The image quality is good, with a sweet spot in terms of sharpness between f5.6 and f11. It's robust, easy to use and can take some punishment, including a little moisture. Overall, it's a great lens.Conversely, the 15-45mm is made of plastic, nowhere near as robust, lacks an aperture rung (aperture adjustment is down with a dial on the camera) and is a full 10mm (18%) shorter at the long end of the zoom. But, it's also lighter, smaller and the 3mm (17%) extra wide-angle makes a huge difference. Also, the image quality is excellent. I genuinely think that my XC 15-45mm creates images that are as good and possibly even better than my XF 18-55mm AT A FRACTION OF THE PRICE.I really like my XF 18-55mm lens. It's a great general purpose lens. But, I honestly think that for 'walking around' photography, I prefer my XC 15-45mm.

May not work with your Fuji Body
If you watch Ken Rockwell's review of this lens you will see what to expect from the lens. Many of the features he shows did not work with my XA2 and XE2S Fuji bodies. Fuji have only upgraded the firmware of a few of their newer cameras to properly support this lens. My two bodies even though they have the latest firmware do not have full support for this lens. The major problem was that if you took a photo and then reviewed it the lens would retract the zoom and switch off, you had to reactivate the lens to take the next photo. On some camera bodies this is fixed through a firmware update, but not with mine.

Buy this if you want an amazing wide angle lens.
I got this lens with my Fujifilm X-T200 and it's been great to work with. It's a very nice budget zoom but I've found its main value to me is as a 15mm F3.5 wide angle lens, which is great for video and taking photos of landscapes, clouds and architecture and so on. I've also done some astrophotography with this lens and it's absolutely brilliant at taking wide angle shots of the milky way! It's also very light and compact and takes up very little space in your camera bag.The price brand new though is very expensive so if this lens isn't bundled with your camera when you buy it then the best way to own one is to get it used. I've seen prices around £140 for "Like New" condition!

Nice and wide but power zoom not great
Got this with an XA2 kit deal and I like the lens for the wide field of view. It's also fairly sharp for a kit lensThing is for me this is not worth the asking price outside of a deal or bundle it's plastic build and mount make it a £120 lens at most. It's light and feels OK, just that awful power zoom control which is much slower than a manual mechanical zoom lens it takes a lot of getting used to and I don't like it much.Summary is as a kit starter lens not bad, no way is it worth the asking price as a stand alone lens
