These hard clear plastics don't last forever. If yours is old or cracked, try this new BPA free set.
The hard clear plastics like this are great when they are young. I dropped mine on the floor many times. I would forget to take the medium pusher out before removing the lid. I'd turn the lid over to stop the food from dripping off of the bottom of the lid and onto the countertop. Then the medium pusher would slide out and go crashing down onto the floor. When the plastic was young, it survived a few drops like that.But my machine is many years old now. When these plastics get old, they get brittle. A couple of years ago, I dropped the medium pusher again. Since it was old and brittle, a chunk of plastic broke off of the rim. I have been using the machine with the broken medium pusher. But I was not happy about it. It bothered me that my expensive machine was not perfect.When I saw this fresh young pusher assembly available on Amazon, I got it right away. Now I can throw out my old brittle broken plastic and use this fresh young assembly. My machined is whole again. It's nice to see the fresh clear plastic without and scratches on it. It looks crystal clear.I have used it and it works fine. It works just like the old one, only newer!My old machine was built before I knew that BPA was in a lot of these clear plastics. My old pusher might have had BPA in it. I don't know, because I wasn't aware that BPA was in kitchen gadgets, when I first bought my machine. But this new pusher is BPA free, as shown in 6th photo of the Amazon ad. That is comforting to know.This is the most affordable replacement I could find. It's a very good value for your money.- Good BPA free material.- Exactly like original in Form, Fit and Function.- New, with a whole fresh lifespan in front of it.5 STARS!

Great price for Cuisinart replacements.
This replacement feels and fits the same. It's CLEAR, where the original was smoked. The metal "rod" feels lighter weight? Almost like the original was metal and the replacement is aluminum. But I don't know that. I'm just trying to explain the difference. I do not see that to be an issue for use. It slides in the same.I'm very pleased with this replacement for fit and cost. I had called Cuisinart and the cost kept me using the broken pieces. They were broken on the edges, so it didn't effect the action of use.
