A musical middle finger to MTV.
Most great bands reach a level of success that puts them in a comfort zone to experiment with musical styles. AC. / DC. has definitely reached that stage in their career at the time they made "Blow Up Your Video" but they have chosen to do what they have always done & that is to make another Hard Rock album! At a time when MTV. was at its influential peak saturated with Big hair ballad bands AC. / DC. tells the musical industry & world of Rock & Roll to Blow up your video, a musical middle finger to MTV. & the idea that you have to have a video to be a success in the music industry. For those not old enough to remember Bands did not find it necessary to create some artsy fartsy music video to become successful all they needed to do was sound great. From their very beginning until their most recent album release all AC. / DC. wanted to do was Hard Rock, & they have never failed to do that very thing. Music is an art form so each individual has their personal preferences but it cannot be denied that every AC. / DC. album ever made Rocks & Rocks Hard!!!! Mission accomplished!!!

I love AC/DC and this is one of my favorite albums from them.
This was my first CD purchase when I was younger and so it will always hold a soft spot in my heart. That being said, it's one of my favorite AC/DC albums of all time. I can go back to this over and over and it always takes me back in time. Some of my favorite tracks are Heatseeker, Kissin' Dynamite, Some Sin for Nothin' and This Means War.The recording works for me, its got that coming out of the 80' sound. They are letting up on the reverb/echo on Brian Johnsons voice vs albums like Flick of the Switch or even Fly on the Wall and overall it sounds clean. The bass is not heavy or if anything on the lighter side. From what I understand, Blow Up Your Video is one of AC/DC's least selling albums, which I find pretty sad because there are some gems on this CD.:D

Great album that alot of people over look.
First of all it would've gotten 5 stars if not for the album cover being damaged in shipping. This is a great album that always gets overlooked when it comes to AC/DC.

A fitting FU to the music of the time...
The five stars is for the product and shipping. I'd actually give the album four stars. While not their best album it's definitely heads above anything that came out around that time. In the time of hair bands and extremely image conscious rock music AC/DC showed they weren't budging an inch or deviating from their course. The album is in my opinion their least inspired effort but by no means a bad album. Why the bsides and outtakes from these sessions didn't replace a few of the tracks they did choose we'll never know but it could've been a much better album with them included. Check out Backtracks to see what I'm saying. Anyways it's a must own for the hardcore faithful but probably not a great starting place to really understand the caliber of the band. ****

Their Last Great Album
Ignore what you've heard anywhere else, this is the last time Brian's voice is in top form, the last time the rhythm section really cooks and the last time Malcolm's riffs/songs work from beginning to end. Angus is as always great. There is only one knock against this album, and that is the way the vocals were recorded. Excessive reverb and unwise mixing result in a sound that is hard to explain on a top band's album; somebody was asleep at the switch. Nevertheless, you can listen to this set all the way through without a duff track in the lot. Be thankful for small favors from your favorite Scottish band (by way of Australia).

AC/DC Will Rock Your Radio With This CD.
This is one CD that isn't for everybody, I love it though. Some say this is one of their weeker albums, but I disagree. I love all the songs on here except for 1, it just is bad. The rest of the album ROX, you have cool guitar riffs, lyrics that are excellent, and background music that will get you energized. It's one hard rock CD from the 80's that is too good to pass up.THX,Kris L. CocKayne
