Works exactly like the one it replaced.
Bought to replace a latch that was exactly the same. I asked for help installing it because I am old! I like the fact that it looks shiny and new and fits and works exactly like the old one. I could not find one at a hardware store near me so was happy to find it at Amazon.

Hard to find but worth the search
This storm door lock and latch knob replaced one that failed in less than a year of use. Frustrating.Pulling it out of its packaging, the difference in quality was immediately sensed and following installation was fast and simple.I am swearing off less expensive corner hardware replacements.

Very High Quality Solid Brass
I have used and replaced several Stanley-brand screen door locks over the years. They are OK, but rather cheaply made and only brass-plated (not solid) in several key spots. This item, although actually made by Stanley, is much higher quality -- solid brass handle and rosette -- and likely will last for many, many years. Very pleased.

Lube it!
I don't write many reviews; I need some special reason to do so. This one is more of a user-tip. This is my third latch on the same door in 15 years. Over time, they tarnish and rust and the inner mechanism does the same, to the point that it seizes up and stops working well. Until now I had been thinking, "these latches are cheaply made, I wish I could buy something else and install it without requiring some serious refitting work on the door." But I have changed my mind. I think they're made about as well as can be done; there is only so much you can do with something that is constantly exposed to the elements. This time I figured out to try something new, which I think will help a lot: as I installed it, I slathered a lot of silicone-based lubricant on all of the interior parts. I think that will both slow the rusting/gunking-up and keep it working longer despite some rust.

Terrible, terrible door knob
I got this to replace a similarly shaped screen door knob which had fallen apart after literally decades of use.First, the instructions were missing important steps in the installation process.Second, the door knob was very difficult to adjust to where it would latch and be able to be opened (how to make this adjustment was not explained in the instructions).Third, it keeps unscrewing itself so it has to be reset every few days.Unable to install until after the return window which is why I know nothing will fix this darn thing.

Set screw slip
Sturdy. Set screw on handle loosens regularly even after I put thread lock on.
