Sturdy and Versatile !
We recently bought the hitch bike rack with cargo basket, and we are very happy with it. The assembly was quick and easy, took us 20 minutes. It is very sturdy, made of thick metals, although it does have a bit of heft around about 50 pounds. Our bikes fit well on the rack, with the additional support of bike pole and straps, we feel pretty safe about it. the switch from cargo basket to bike rack was pretty easy, no need of tools, that's a plus. With a little bit of extra force on the joints, it feels really stable. This is an awesome option for anyone needed an reliable sotluion for carrying heavy bikes and cargos !

BEST multi-use ebike rack!!
Love the fact this is a multi-use trailer hitch mount rack. we have fat tire very heavy ebikes *80lbs, and love versitility that I can use it for more than just a bike rack. it folds nicely. generally solidly built. CAUTION; the welds on the receiving nut of the the tensioning Wing-nut style bolt fractured and failed. Poor design on this attempt to make it a tight solid fit so the carrier stays level; only spot welded on that part, a complete weld, or better yet different design would be better. But we still love and use this every ride! we added LED trailer lights to it as it does stick out and we don't want anyone to hit our bikes that partially block our vehicle tail lights. We can use this for camping tubs, even put my eliptical on it to bring it home!!! this thing rocks!

5 stars eventhough I'm returning it
This rack is so well built and sturdy. I bought it to carry two 'Lectric 3.0XP step-thru bikes. These have 20" tires and the side rails of the rack interfere with the derailure, kickstand, and the very delicate disc brake rotor. If I had larger tires this would be ideal. Eventhough I'm returning it, I gave it 5 stars because of the design and sturdiness, plus the versatility of being able to carry ice chests or gas cans when not carrying bikes.

Small rack
Was not user friendly to put together. Also, too small for my electric bike

Really well built, easy to assemble
This is really nice and well built. It's big enough to put 1 bike and still have about a foot wide by the length of the cargo rack for storage area.Easily swivels up and down when opening a SUV hatch.Use the hitch Locking device to keep the rack from moving around in the hitch while driving and to keep it stable. The end bars remove to allow for bigger bikes.

Did an easy security update - See Pictures
I got this for my two e-bikes on the back of our RV. ...We also tow a jeep off the same hitch, and this rack was the only one I found that was compact enough to do that (most were 48"wide). I mounted it without the flip up arm to save some space. However others offered better security, so I had to MacGyver this one. I drilled a 5/16" hole at the top of the vertical stabilizer bar, and now use a 1/4" adjustable trailer hitch lock to keep the bike holders from being removed. You can use a second lock at the bottom pivot bolt to secure the vertical post too - and nothing can be removed. Easy fix. See the pictures.

Good Concept But Needs Help
Update: After traveling 1500 miles with our 2 bikes on this rack, we will definitely be looking for a different way to haul our bikes. The knobs that tighten to the center pole loosened to the point that one fell completely off. The rubber split on the one hook that still had rubber. Fortunately, we had numerous tie down straps and a bike cover that enclosed everything. The knob that fell off was caught inside the cover or it would have been lost. Using this bike rack takes way too much time to secure because it needs so much additional strapping to feel secure. Frustrating.Original review:We were very disappointed when we first tried to mount our heavy ebikes onto the rack. The spaces for the wheels don't adjust width wise. The center pole for securing the bikes was wobbly. The rack itself wobbled side to side more than we were comfortable with. The tie down straps that came with the rack were poor quality. After a lot of trial and error, and time, we found ways to make it more secure. We velcroed each bike tire to the floor of the rack, put extra bolts in the center pole so it is snug and doesn't move (it will not lay flat now unless we remove the bolts), added turn buckles between the hitch and rack for extra stability, and used different / stronger tie down straps. The rubber fell off one of the center hooks the first time we used it. We put a piece of foam on the crossbar and that solved the problem. We plan to transport our ebikes long distances so we need a secure and safe way to transport them. With all of our modifications we feel much better about it.
