Top notch reel. I have always used Baitrunners but my others left me feeling like the fish was playing me rather than the other way round if I got a 30lb+ carp hooked. I now use three of these as my night fishing set up and have been reliably informed by a friend of mine that these could be used for sea fishing up to a point.

Solid and smooth as glass
Musky fishing. This is my second rig after the Ambassadeur 7000 reel. I paired it with a Predator series Musky spinning rod and it works well.

Great all around reel
I've had two of these over the years and have used them for both light salt water surf fishing and freshwater. On the shoreline I use a light action 12' surf rod, but have also used it to catch small bait fish on the salt water as well. I always have a second spool with light fresh water line and a smaller rod for stream and lake fishing. If you maintain this reel well by cleaning and oiling it, especially after salt water use, it will last forever. I bought the last one on Amazon 10 years ago.
