Camera Eyecup for Nikon Z9/Z8/Zf Perfect Circle Type JHTDK-33 Made in Japan

I'm a big fan of wide round eyecups for Nikon's flagship cameras. I used them all the time, with all my professional bodies. Nikon used to release the dk-19 for previous cameras and compatibility was excellent for all models, but the Z series has a different viewfinder mount diameter and Nikon has yet to release a similar eyecup. This is very strange, since 80% of all professional photographers need it, and now, after almost three years after Z9 release , we finally have a high-quality wide round eyecup from a Japanese company (although not Nikon). In the original previous DK-19, this was implemented a little better. It was impossible to loose it. In this version I assume you can loose it. But at the moment this is the best solution compared to the garage men or the very straight eyecup from JJC. This one you can fold up when you are working without glasses or when you don’t need it. The price is a little high, but still cheaper than the others.

I bought two of these eyecups, one each for a Nikon Z8 and Z9. The standard eyecups are ineffective in preventing the intense S Florida sun from penetrating into the EVF, but these are up to the task. I do not know how long they will last, but if they were to deteriorate I would buy them again.

Be very careful! The rubber cup VERY easily falls off. I don't know how and when, but I looked down and the cup was gone.

This eyecup for the Nikon z9 camera shields my vision from glare when looking through the viewfinder. It is a good substitute for the original eyepiece, the rubber ring continued to fall off when walking around while on a strap hanging off my shoulder. While this eyecup piece also falls off, applying a little silicon glues the eyepiece to the viewfinder ring, which I should have done to the original rubber on the viewfinder rings.

This is what I have been looking for. I had one on my d700 before and it worked like a dream! It fits perfectly on the Z8 and is foldable ! It does not interfere w the LCD display. Happy purchase :)
