Made for explosiveness and agility on the trail, these trail running shoes are built to complement natural movement -- like barefoot, but better.

Comfortable
I bought these shoes for my husband. He says they are the most comfortable and lightweight shoes he has ever owned. They are high quality and look great too.

Snug.
Nice, but snug fitted for double wide foot. Not like previous minimus versions. Wish they didn’t discontinue the previous styles.

I like them
A good shoe with better than normal protction for the bottom of your foot in rocky terrain. I climbed (3) 13ners almost right out of the box. These were agile and grippy enough for the dirt, tallus, and gravel. I love my old minimu shoes. These are an good replacement but not as good for comfort as the old for straight path walking. 12 wide fit right for my 12 wide feet. Good arch support. Spongy on pavement so this is the only time they feel odd on my feet.

So far so good!
These are not the shoe they used to be and fortunately I stocked up on the previous model. This definitely is not a replacement for that shoe. However, I needed a minimal trail running shoe with a little protection between my feet and the rocky terrain where I live. The previous model didn't have enough to not hurt my feet on rocks. This shoe is perfect and what I needed. I do need to find a good replacement for the previous model and just hoping something will be released in the next few years, as I have 3 pairs to hold me over. Just note to order a half size up. I'm a 10.5 narrow men's in most everything and had to return and get a size 11 (most women's shoes are too short for me at size 12).

Fit like an all terrain sock..
Best thing I've ever put on my feet. Wow. Amazed. Fits like all terrain socks. Already have 2 pair. 5'7, 149#, size 10.5. True to size, narrow and perfect.

Undeserving of the name
I had at least 5 pairs of the *real* Minimus trail shoe that new balance stopped making so when I saw these I got excited. Then looked at the specs of the shoe. They’re fine enough but the sizing has changed since the previous version and because of the thick sock like heel, I never feel locked. Won’t be buying another pair

Many good things, one critical negative
I was looking forward to trying this new incarnation of the minimus. There are a lot of things to like. The stack height of 16mm-20mm, while far from barefoot, provides enough protection to be able to really go fast on trails without worrying about every rock or root, but also low enough to have great flex and avoid ankle rolls. The tread looks like it would work great on most trails and short stretches of asphalt. The shape is nice and anatomical, with plenty of room for toes to splay. One negative, and a huge one for me, turned out to be breathability (or rather the lack of it). The pictures are kinda deceiving. They look like the shoes have very open mesh. In reality the material is so dense that my hand barely feels any flow from inside when I try to blow air through the top. This means it get hot fast, and all the sweat and water gets locked inside. If only New Balance made the upper breathable this would be superb shoes. But as it is, they are going back.

Great shoes, a bit soft on the upper.
Cool shoes, the upper is to soft and not rigid enough for me. But they are neat.
