There are some way better brands models. For a person that needs it to build/spin their own rods I highly recommend this product. It's definitely designed for personal use. I wouldn't buy with the intention of building 20+ rods or commercially building rods. The price and efficiency is perfect for personal use. Variable speed control is very good and forward reverse options makes it nice for slowly wrapping threads around eye guides.

Good price for beginners.

I bought this primarily for the ability ti spin and dry my rods and for that it seems to work well. The thread supplies is wire, the tape had zero tack, the scissors function but are a bit rough. Overall it's what I expected for the price. Plan on getting your own thread, additional glue if doingbmore than a few repairs, but the motor and rack do function how I had hoped.

I like that it was inexpensive and still got the job done better than expected. It did need clamping to stable it. I expected that prior to purchasing it.

This didn't last varnishing half a rods worth of thread wraps. Just gradually got slower and slower until it stopped. What a worthless piece of junk!

I travel and leave fishing rods at the remote places I visit often. This turner helps a lot when repairing broken guides, mostly turning the rod for the finish coat. It's light weight and compact for travelling.

The rod repair kit from Threlaco offers a complete rod repair kit in a single package. While this is a cost effective kit, and the rod rotator and support tools are good beginner helpers, the other components of the kit are lacking. The masking tape provided is non-sticking. The wrapping provided is like crafting wire, not thread. The epoxy proved is Ok, but difficult to dispense from the bottles. Perhaps if there was an instructional video or link on how to use the provided materials, I would have been less disappointed with the kit.
