This is a big hit for any child who likes rockets.

There is a ridiculous amount of space rocket combinations you can make with this toy. The back of the box lists the dozens of examples. Each module can be joined together to create new things. Some of the modules have cockpit doors you can store your space travelers in. There aren’t a lot of small pieces aside from the little figures. The figures have legs and arms that can move. The box listed only 3 are included, but my set included 4. There’s also a little space rover, and a moon buggy that can fit a driver.There’s a lot of electronic effects built in. 1 module has buttons that will play 4 simple child tunes, or 4 space sound effects. Other modules have LED lights and projectors that will shine an image of a planet on any surface you point the light too. The surface needs to be close to the toy to focus it and the room somewhat dark. The final effect is a takeoff sound with flashing lights and a smoke mist out of the engine (need to add water to the toy.) Button cell batteries are pre-installed, however the ship requires 3 ‘AA’s which are not included.Build quality is so-so. It’s a little tricky to fit the pieces together. I think kids will figure it out, but initially they might need to have some patience to line them up and twist the modules to lock them together. My sounds effect didn’t work, but after mashing the buttons about a dozen times it began making sounds and was fine after that. The smoke effect from the rocket was barely noticeable or sometimes not working at all. The projector on one of the nose cones no longer works when twisting it to change the graphic. I’ll probably have to take it apart to see what happened, but now it’s stuck on one planet with no way to change it. There’s also not much of an instruction manual, so you’ll have to figure out a lot of things on your own. The plastic seems solid, which is great for strong hands.For the price this set packs a lot of play value. The different figures are cute and fun and the ability to build different ships with lights and sound effects should provide endless play.

A lot of thought went into this toy. First of all, it's a space rocket which is cool to any kid. Then there's the modular design that allows a kid to put together in many ways (or keep them all separate). It has a projector (not something that you can change, however). It has sounds and lights. And for good measure, it incorporates the water vapor mist that we see in more toys now to make the rocket smoke trail. They even threw in some educational cards. I can see this being one of a kid's favorite toys with all the imaginative possibilities. It looked like they were good quality as well. The little toy figures were a bit flimsy, however. They didn't stand up very well on their own and may lose that ability altogether with use.
