Having purchased Reed & Barton serving items for years of course I jumped at the chance to order this beautiful tray. Note that it is NOT sterling silver which means you don't have to polish it, more information in my update below.I'm trying to think of what to say about it that isn't immediately obvious: Of course it's absolutely gorgeous with a smooth mirror finish (you might want to put felt pads on any teapots or miscellaneous items to be placed on it.) But what I really like about it might not be super obvious: it's absolutely a perfect size. So many of these trays are absolutely huge to the point they're too heavy to carry with serveware on them. Once placed they crowd out everything on the table top. This one is just the right size to make a wonderful impression yet isn't so large it takes up the entire serving area.It came marvelously packaged with bubble wrap, overwrap and two separate boxes for protection. This is absolutely an heirloom piece which would make a marvelous gift for a marriage or housewarming. It would be perfect for engraving if you have a local service which could provide that.UPDATE: I originally wrote that I'm worried about the need to polish it but the directions explicitly say NOT to use silver polish on it which may mar the finish. Either it doesn't have a significant amount of sterling on the surface or it's got zinc or some other protective coating on it. Either way this isn't marketed as pure sterling and I'm relieved not to have to baby it, so just another upside for this beautiful piece.

This is a well-known, established brand. The style is classic and simple. I got this as a wedding gift for my niece, but I might just keep it.

This stylish tray really elevates the presentation and is the perfect vessel for appetizers, hors d’oeuvres and drinks. This tray feels solid and has a nice simple design and shape that I like. While I might overestimate my culinary abilities, this tray will definitely help me maintain that facade. Now, I just have to find a good polishing cream that is gentle on silver plating and still results in a lustrous shine.

The tray is beautiful, large and shiny. Perfect as a centerpiece with candles or seasonal decorations, or will be lovely as a bar tray or to hold perfume bottles etc. It's a classic design, not too fussy with the details, mirror-like reflective finish really brightens up a space. I expect to have to baby it to prevent scratches from anything I set on it.The tray I received is flawless, but I do think it was a returned item, as it arrived in messy, crumpled tissue paper and an unfolded paper dinner napkin! It's fine since the tray is in excellent condition and for personal use, but if I had intended to gift this, I probably would have had to return it. Lovely decor piece though! A nice melding of a classic accent piece with clean modern lines and finish.

This is a very beautiful and well-made tray. It is perfect for whenever you’re feeling fancy, and is really a statement piece as well. It is well crafted, easy to use, hasn’t tarnished with use (over a month or so anyway), and really makes your guests feel like they are worth you bringing out your best tableware. this tray looks great with cupcakes, fancy glasses, or a tea service. This would be a good gift for Mother’s Day, birthday, housewarming, engagement, or wedding.

This is a lovely, but practical tray that is great to have on hand for holidays and any kind of entertaining opportunities that might come your way. It is classic and elegant, but lightweight and easy to care for thankfully...no silver polish required. My only problem with it is that it just won't fit inside the box it arrived in. If this were to be given as a gift, I would have to take out all of the inner wrappings to stuff it in and be able to barely close the lid...it arrived with the lid open and I still for the life of me can't get it closed with the tray inside, wrapped as it was...strange, maybe mine was just a fluke?!
