Reviewing Nail Holder for Hammering , I can’t stand hitting my thumb while hammering. I’m sure most people can’t, but I seem to do it a lot. This tool looked like a Godsend. An easy way to avoid it from ever happening again. I admit, it looks like one of those ‘as seen on TV’ products that you also would see near the checkout lines at Bed, Bath & Beyond before they closed their brick & mortars.I just got the chance to test it out & I have to say, it works beautifully. It holds the nail nice & snug while you are getting the nail started, and it’s easy to detach when you no longer need it to hold the nail in place. It works like a set of pliers. Likewise, it has spaces for a variety of nail sizes also.I thought the only thing I wouldn’t like would be that if you need to be precise with where the nail goes, you wouldn’t be able to use this tool because it covers up a large spot in the area you have it on. However, I was wrong. This opens and closes like a pair of scissors, so you can hold the nail in the exact spot you need and open the tool around your nail, then close it around the nail & if you don’t move the nail, you’re golden. It’s a simple, cheap, piece of plastic, but it works wonders! One note: The picture listing pics show that it’s purple, but the one I received is blue. Not that it matters, but some people might care.

Looks similar to needle nose pliers, except it arrived with one handle completely snapped off. I’d hoped to use to it to hold nails so I could hang pictures without bashing my fingers. Haven’t decided what to do, a hassle returning it, might try gluing. Looks like design would work had this arrived intact. Maybe needs to be packed better as the item doesn’t seem to be fragile

This is a handy tool to hold nails and keep yourself from hammering your fingers. It doesn't work in all situations as the nose may be too long to get in close enough to a corner, especially with fine finishing nails. Also, it took just one solid "miss" with my 16oz hammer and I hammered this thing into a hundred pieces; no more nail holder!

This is great because it has several nail sizes in here. I am a newbie at home improvement, so I had to figure out how to use it effectively, I had trouble holding finishing nails. I think someone who is used to this would do much better.
