Great size and design but surprisingly heavy, which makes this brooch somewhat less versatile than I hoped. But I like it and I’m keeping it!

This big brooch is really cool looking. It is three inches across, so quite big, and heavy. It has real heft to it. The pin on the back it really thick. This is not a brooch for a delicate blouse or sweater. It really is a kilt pin. It would work on a chunky sweater, loose weave coat, or a purse. Or a kilt if you have one.The design with the stag head and thistles is traditionally Scottish. I got it because it looks like the kind of traditional alpine gewgaws my Bavarian cousins put on their Tracht. I plan to pin it to a cloth purse or around the strap of a leather purse, for a little flair.

This is a gorgeous pin and it's so sturdy, it's on par with bed sheet pins. It came in a beautiful box made specifically for this brooch. Everything about it is fantastic. I would recommend this for anything, not just being fashionable in kilts - I intend to use this for cloaks and other coats. (Cloaks aren't out of style if you don't care what people think of you.)

This beautiful pewter brooch has the look of something old and traditional. It is quite large, at about 3" on diameter and works perfectly for its intended use of fastening a tartan plaid shawl or scarf. Even if one does not have one's own family tartan, it is lovely, and indeed useful to do the same for any shawl or scarf. Its beauty and actual usefulness belies its modest price. This one has a traditional Scottish stag motif that shows off a high level of craftsmanship.
