Most of the time, I don't know what to expect with guy hair products regarding smell. They're either bombastically overscented or have no scent at all. There was no middle ground. However, this product challenges that while remaining a functional hair product. When I first cracked it open, I did what I always do and went in for a whiff, praying it didn't smell like Grandma's. I was pleasantly surprised. I can't pinpoint what the smell is, but I know it reminds me of incense, so patchouli or sandalwood; it's just the first two things that popped into my little brain. As for function, it is as advertised. My hair looks much more hydrated and healthy, which is what it claims is its purpose, and when I tie my hair back, I'll add some additional product to the sides in hopes of taming some of my wilder hairs, and it does that as well. There's so little on the container as to proper use and instruction, so, fingers crossed, I'm using it correctly. It doesn't necessarily state it's just for men, and the scent seems like it could be considered unisex; all that it indicates towards gender is that it came from a barber and not a stylist or studio or what have you.

This set is such a good deal i had to buy multiple for all my friends and family as gifts before they were gone. It smells amazing and the product alone leaves my hair feeling soft and sleek, but the extra oil is the icing on the cake for the final glow.

This is a nice and light hair cream. It has a subtle but pleasant scent to it. It doesn’t feel heavy like a lot of other hair creams. This is a great product to finish off any look. I like how a little bit goes a long way while styling hair.

I really enjoy the smell of this product. It's really nice without at all being overpowering. I felt like it held will without weighing down my hair and making it feel flat. It's a little on the expensive side but it is a very nice product.

Works ok for curly hair. Makes your hair a little crispy which isn’t great. The smell is also weird and I don’t so much like it. Won’t be my go to product. Will go back to my sea salt spray.

This is a quality hair cream for adding sheen and smoothness to my dry hair. It doesn’t weigh down hair. Controls frizz. Adds texture with fluidity. Keeps hair style in shape without stickiness like gels or pomades. It has a pleasant lingering scent that’s sweet and woody - sandalwood and cedar wood. It’s more masculine and may interfere with your fragrances. Other than that, this Murdock hair cream is very nice.

While I think this product, based upon the smell, is most likely geared towards men - I still like it. I have long curly hair and then ends tend to be dry and frizzy. I have been using this on the bottom 3 or 4 inches of my hair and I really like how it makes it look and feel. I put it on my hair while it is still damp, but towel dried. It feels much more moisturized, but NOT greasy. My ends curl in controlled ringlets and stay that way all day. Some people have commented that they do not like the way this product smells - but I actually do. It is, to me, a masculine woodsy smile - which I really like. I am super happy with the product and it's results. Hope this review helps! =0)

Always curious about fragrances in men's products as some try really hard to be too masculine and end up with an overwhelming odor, but not this hair cream, it's quite enjoyable. As for function, it delivers on its promise of hydrating and taming hair. I typically have mostly straight hair, but every now and then, I will have it styled and need something to maintain those curls and waves. Either way, I need good hair care product, especially those I can use on my dry ends, and this leaves them moisturized without feeling greasy. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this product and would recommend giving it a try!
