Adds depth of flavor and sweetness
These can be used in any recipe where you need sugar. I use them for Thai food, Indian food, Mexican food, Italian food. If you don't need much sweetness, just adding one or even 1/2 of one to your recipe will help balance the flavors without making it overly sweet. This is especially true for tomato based recipes. They can counter out any sour or bitter taste. If you want to add more sweetness to your dish, add two or three depending on the size of your recipe. This will add a depth of flavor that you can't get with regular white sugar or other sweetener. I keep them in the fridge to keep them fresh, and just take out what I need and they last a very long time in the fridge. I love them. They can seem a bit pricey but I've never had any wasted and the depth of flavor they add to my recipes It's worth it. I thought about using these in coffee, but that would get expensive. I do use turbinado sugar in my coffee and I'm finding more and more places to stop using white sugar. These little palm sugar discs work especially amazing in Thai and Indian curries where balancing sweet, sour, spicy and salty is important, as well as spaghetti sauce. Just throw them into your hot pot and let the heat dissolve them, then stir well. I love that they come in a plastic jar so they arrive in perfect condition and they can be stored in the refrigerator with no hassle. I haven't tried yet, but these may also work well for simple syrups that could be used for beverages or cocktails. Think of these as moderately sweet with a depth of flavor. I highly recommend these.

Blonde Sugar not Palm
Bought several palm sugar brands to compare for a pad thai sauce and this was the worse out of the five brands I picked up. It was crumbly so it meant that there is little to no palm sugar in it. It was especially evident when I started to cut into it, the sugar crumbled into pieces which means that it has a very high white sugar content. It's not as it says pure palm sugar on the container. A pass on this one, might as well use a light brown sugar in lieu of this brand. Save your money, not worth it.
