Excellent TOY Sherman - not a model
Excellent basic Sherman tanks fir the price for use as a toy or as the start of a decent model for wargaming or display. This ISN'T a detailed model. It’s a toy. It has no bottom - and is hollow. I’ve detailed it with bits from the spares box and painted it to a good wargaming standard. As long as you know what you are getting excellent deal for the price.

My history nerd son loves these 1:38 Sherman tanks. Will use in diorama's. Has all the right guns.
I got these for my history nerd YA son, and was worried because he doesn't usually work in this scale, but figured what the heck. Foreground, background, he'll be able to use them in one of his diorama's! And sure enough, gave them to him yesterday as he was preparing to leave for a month in China, and he loved these! We unpacked them, and luckily found the turret guns and some other weapon (he knows, I forget) taped on the underside for economy of shipping. Woohoo! He says he's going to paint the other gun, but he loves painting these things anyway, so that's not terrible. He was just afraid all they had was the turret, because that's all I mentioned to him before gifting it to him. The turrets took a second to install, but he's a Lego guy too, so it was really like 30 seconds and he had both built. A+ item if you've got a history/war nerd at home who likes to have army men or do reenactments. Probably also cool if you've got a veteran who could tell you stories about these bad boys. Even perfect for little kids who just like to play war games with plastic soldiers. Happy with my order! At least an "A" grade from us. Not perfect modeling, but good enough for play/display. Also, they are a good size so you can see the details. He says he's going to paint one of the white stars red, because apparently the US gave some of these Sherman's to the Russians, and he doesn't have any Russian tanks yet. See? Nerd. But at least he's got a hobby! Happy I ordered because he's happy. Shipped quickly. Packaged to make a compact but good economical gift for young ones.

Good for gaming or historical display
These are slightly detailed tanks, suitable for war gaming. They are nice, not necessarily collector display nice, but decently made. The turret and guns move, and the turret may be removed. They are fairly lightweight, and the treads do not move (I was not expecting them to). It would be fine for older kids to play with, or really older kids (like the 50+ kind)! They do remind me of the classic army sets of the 50's and 60's, or at least a more detailed one!

Attack your foes with the US Main Medium Battle Tank M4 (1942-1957)
The M4, with a 105mm main gun, was the main medium battle tank beginning in 1942 during WWII and remained in service in the US until 1957. This plastic model has a moderate level of detail which does a good job of faithfully recreating many of the features found on the M4, including hatch and tool outlines, light silhouettes, and the detachable top turret machine gun. The sides and the rear and not detailed, and the tracks have six road wheels and the sprockets. The machine gun comes taped to the underside of the tank body. The turret comes detached but installs with just a twist. The turret can swivel and the main gun has about 15 % of upward movement. The tank is about 5.5 inches in length and 3 inches tall. White star on each side of turret. The tank does not have any wheels on the underside.

1:38 is too small
1:32 is much better

A delightful trip down memory lane
These toy tanks, created in the style of the classic, plastic army men so many of us grew up with, are a fine pair of collectibles. The sculpt, color, density and quality of plastic used are all true to the vintage items these tanks seek to reproduce.Attaching the turrets to the bodies of the tanks requires a firm hand to snap them into place. It should be noted the little machine guns that mount on the turrets do not hold their positions, and will swivel left and right as one moves the tanks around. Is this pair of tanks a good value for your money? Yes and no. The price seems a little steep for what these are, but it's important to remember these are not the cheap little army man accessories your mom bought you at a drug store when you were six years old; these are nostalgia pieces designed with the adult collector in mind. Viewed through that lens, this product succeeds at being exactly what it's supposed to be.

Great addition to Plastic Solders squad!
I got this for my son who like most boys collects Plastic Soldier Toys. The size is perfect at 6 inches long x 2.7 inches wide x 2.66 inches tall, not too large and fits well with the other Plastic Soldiers. The tank has intricate detailing, capturing even the smallest features. While the price may be a bit on the higher side, I believe it's justified given that BMC is a reputable company known for producing high-quality Plastic Soldiers. This assures me that the purchase was worth the price.
