I am fair with cool tones, I can tan but I can definitely also burn. I’ve suffered a second degree burn in my life from the sun. After using these for about a week I went on a 5 hour kayak trip in south Florida in early may and forgot my sunscreen. I had applied some at the car to my arms and face but planned to do everything else after I reached the first island. I got there and realized I left the sunscreen at the car. I decided to risk it and go back if I felt too hot. I then kayaked all day no problem!!! Granted it was more in the afternoon but I never even felt that slight burn on my skin. That was the first of a 5 day stretch of kayaking and walking the beach from 2-5 hours each day (20 miles total) in full sun or only partial shade. I did have access to sunscreen for the other 4 days but I was not as diligent as I normally am because I never felt a burn. After all that time outdoors I got zero sunburn and I am as tan as I’ve ever been. I also swear my skin is softer, especially on my face where it usually feels rough to me! This was recommended to me at a talk by a dermatologist and I’m so glad I tried it. I am super impressed, and tan !!!! I will keep using sunscreen, but it’s very nice to know that I have this as a safety net, especially when I am by myself and cannot reach my back as well.

I really wanted to like these, but they give me terrible headaches. The Tolerable Upper Intake Level of Niacinamide for adults is 35mg, and these pills have 500mg each.I use Heliocare, but it's so expensive. I've never had any side effects with Heliocare, but I've only used the regular version. I've never tried the "advanced" version with Niacinamide/Nicotinamide. I guess the Niacinamide is giving me the headaches with these pills (it's a known side-effect).I also think it might have caused fatigue. It's not a well-documented side-effect, but some people take Niacinamide at night as a sleep aid.I wasn't interested in Niacinamide; I just wanted Polypodium Leucotomos from the leaf of the plant, which is supposed to be more effective than the root. This company makes another Polypodium Leucotomos supplement without the Niacinamide, but it's from the root. I wish they made a version from the leaf without the Niacinamide.These aren't returnable. I wouldn't recommend trying them if you don't know if you can tolerate huge doses of Niacinamide. Maybe try a cheap Niacinamide supplement first to see if you can tolerate it.I can't say how well they work, because I was never able to use them consistently enough to evaluate.

stupidest thing ever. Amazon asks you to review some product that takes years to see any effect, if any. How can you truly rate a vitamin's worth? It's supposed to help reverse skin damage from the inside. How in the world will I know if it works or not!? I have read articles saying the ingredients should be beneficial. Therefore, I chose this brand, for some reason. I have given a neutral review, as I have no idea if it's going to work for me or not.
