These definitely are cool little patches! See what I did there...they're cool!I was really impressed with how well these stay in place while not leaving any sticky residue. The package says they stay cool for 8 hours, but I don't currently have a sunburn or anything like that to confirm that claim. However, I did try it, keep the backing and took it off and tried it again many hours later and it was still cool on application. Obviously, it wasn't absorbing heat for that time, so it's not the same as wearing it on a sunburn for a while, but it seems like a viable claim.Overall really impressed and will be a great addition to our first aid kit!

Did the test 3 different times, on 3 people, on various parts on body (cutting up 1 package to test).Because none of the test participants had an actual fever the color never changed.When you peel off the clear (translucent) cover, and then attach the gel to the person, the part that shows is the white backing.You must look at the edge and look closely to see a color change.If the person is wearing it on their forehead, they don't know unless they look in a mirror or someone else tells them the color changed. That is why we tried to test on the hand.(Or if someone can recommend another body part to wear it on to then see the change).Since none of the testers had a temperature over 100 degrees, our choice was a hair dryer and a toaster.Holding the piece of gel stuck to a piece of paper above a hot toaster.The gel did turn from purple to pink. And then when pulled away and the temp cools down, the gel color went back to purple.For our test, we had the gel half hanging on the paper so we could see the color change.Again, the turn from purple to pink was still hard to see through the white cover over the gel.The scientific process is great.Wish the color change could be more dramatic. Like from white to black. or bright red.I get the concept, and luckily over the 3 weeks I have had the product no one thought they had a fever.I know I have it on hand to try next time when a fever is suspected.

I am so thankful of these gel patches. They have made my kids fever days "less cranky and less miserable ". I always keep these cooling gel patches with me, especially during the travels. These gel patches are easy to use and they stick well. No worries about water dripping down the forehead! And, this particular set came with a thermometer. How nice! Also, these cooling gel patches change color? Pretty thoughtful way to keep kids distracted when they are sick! I feel like these cooling gel patches are one of the much needed items when you have young kids!

Priced at $24.99 at the time of review. I rated it 4 out of 5 stars.I like that the patches are non-medicinal and hypoallergenic. So I have less concern using them on my kids when they need. You can also use them on adults if necessary but the color changing feature and cute bear design on the package are obviously designed with younger users in mind. I tested it on myself and does feel the cooling effect. Not sure how effective it would be if I actually had a fever. But remember this is meant to be used as additional comfort, not a substitute for fever-reducing medicine.

I recently tried this cooling patch and overall it seems like a solid product. It's soft and easy to remove. It did not stain skin. It stays in place without pulling on skin or waxing eyebrows or the hairline. It stayed sticky even after a few readjustments. It might be a little big for a seven-year-old but apparently we can trim it down.

These Cooling Patches are a great product. I like they can be used by adults and children. The patch fits on your forehead and can be cut if needed. The patches come with a thermometer as well. I definitely recommend this product.

I know, what could you possibly need to know about such a simple looking product? Part of the concept is simple. Slap it on your skin and it feels cool, it doesn't leave any residue and is easy to remove. The active ingredients are mint as a anti-inflammatory, glycerin to moisturize, and purified water to absorb heat. Very simple. In the pictures and not explained anywhere it says it is color changing with a fever. It starts out blue and it will change to red if there is a fever over 100. I don't see an active ingredient listed that would make this feature happen. Since the patch is lowering the temperature of the skin but at the same time it is measuring the temperature of the skin, how accurate could that measurement be? I have not been able to test it on anyone who actually has a fever so maybe it does change to red? Or does it only change to red when the cooling effect is worn off? If there were more instructions and a complete list of ingredients I might have more confidence in the product. I don't like when products don't list all ingredients and don't have clear instructions, especially if they are manufactured outside of the US.I gave it 3 stars because it has a cooling effect, sticks well, and is easy to remove without leaving any residue.
