In terms of flavour and concentration this stuff is much better than the vast array of dodgy Spanish saffron I've come across recently. It's a relief finally to find a great source of high quality saffron that lives up to its description - this is the real deal.Most of the Spanish saffron I've come across this year is of poor quality, is incorrectly labelled as to its category, or worst of all contains dyed parts.The big tell with these always seems to be that the saffron sticks together in a 'mat'. Category 1 (the best) saffron consists only of the tips.
