Q: Hello. Is the mat made of real, natural straw, or is it a man-made material (like plastic) marketed as "straw"? Thank you.

It is made of real straw.Don't expect much of what you are paying for. The mat works fine but will not last 10 visits to the beach particularly if you damp it or if you don't take good care of it.

Q: Can this be cut to create a Valance?

I don’t believe so. The mat is hemmed with tape around the edges. If you cut it it may fray.

Q: how many beach mats are included for this price?

When I purchased these items it was 1 beach mat. However I do not recommend these. Half of mine came ripped at the seams. Additionally they are very light and flimsy. It didn't take much of an ocean breeze to lift them up. Had to anchor them down like you would with a light beach towel.

Q: What color bindings are available?
