Q: how do you pull them apart?

Slide 'em 😁 Yup, they really are strong so I've found that the only way is to slide them apart. BTW don't let them snap together with your fingers in the way. If it doesn't draw blood it will definitely bring tears to your eyes!!!!

Don't hold me to it but I think they're N65

Q: Are each of these magnets strong enough to work with magnetic slime? I am doing a science activity for my students.

I have no idea what magnetic slime is; however these magnets are quite strong. The seller did not have any spec information to give me. There are variations in the strength of neodymium magnets. There are several formulations and I do not know which one these are. Neodymium magnets are the strongest for a given volume. I suggest you look at www.magnet4less.com to get more information.
