Excellent Performance
Installation was easy. Downloading requires you to sign into the CyberLink app. to access the application to install the program. This application also gives you access to audio, photo and movie apps to be used for editing and recording CDs, DVDs and BluRay discs. It cannot decrypt files on DVD or BluRay discs.I have only burned discs. It is also works with other applications like Nero.Very Quiet operation.

Not The 4K Blu-Ray Drive
There's a similar step up model that costs 250$ which will read the 4K blu-rays. This just reads regular blu-rays. Was a little disappointed because of that, but that was quite literally my fault, as the 4K functionality is not listed for this particular model. The functionality, features and reliability are why people spend extra money on this, and from what I have seen so far it makes sense. The CD ripping audio correction during ripping and error checking is one of the stand out features. I have ripped CDs with much cheaper DVD burners, however the result is sometimes you will get skipping. As of now I have no problems to report, I'd recommend this to people still enthusiastic for disc-based media. Whether it's burning/ripping CD/DVD/regular Blu-Rays and ensuring accuracy or obscure use cases such as making homebrew DreamCast discs, this drive will do it and do it well for years to come.

Reliable and then some
Following the failure of a couple of cheaper units from other manufacturers, I’ve had this one for half a year. I haven’t used it for Blu-ray functionality (except, now and then, for playback), but for DVD copying and playback it is first-rate. The build quality and performance inspires confidence. I’d buy this one before I’d consider one of these flimsy compact jobbies offered for sale on Amazon.

A solid disc drive
This Pioneer drive is solid, unlike my previous disc drive which felt like it was all plastic. The speeds for reading and writing are step as well. The bundled software is the only disappointment. I have just tried the music ripping software and found it limited. The software is not needed to use the drive. The drive works great with the software that I was previously using.

Great Drive
With most know CPUs NOT having optical drives, this works great. It was plug in play with a Mac MIni no problems. It just works. I didn't need to add drivers it worked out of the box. Highly recommend.

Good for 3 weeks
Used it to rip 7 Blu ray disc then it stopped working. Disc couldn't be read, then wouldn't even spin, then had to use the pin hole to eject the disc. Complete waste of my time and money

Never seen this before
I am running Windows 11 on a custom built PC with an Intel i9 processor and have had it problem free for some time. While using this drive, I have experienced the "blue screen of death" twice now. I have an ASUS blu ray drive as well which was operating at the same time and I beleive there could be a driver conflict. Using just my ASUS I have never experienced this problem. This will not read 4K discs in case you have read somewhere they might. I will keep this as a backup in case my ASUS dies but there is really nothing impressive about this drive. There are many other drives with the same capabilities that don't have the name "Pioneer" on them that are $50 cheaper.I like Pioneer but this is not one of their better products.
