I needed a drive and was in a hurry. Installed into a Synology NAS and it has been running smoothly for a week now.I have used MDD drives for some time. They all have been good except the 14TB NAS series, they have not lasted a day. Two didn't go 30 seconds.I like the price and have older and smaller drives in NAS devices that are years old.

I bought many large storage Drives in the Past year. The last two drives I purchased were MDD drives. I had issues with both drives. The first I was able to get to work so I kept it. This one I tried everything but nothing would work. I tried to get tech-support on it and that is nonexistent. I end up having to return the drive and waiting 30 days for my money. Returning something is never my favorite option but I had no choice. No matter what I did when those were not recognize the drive and when it finally did It would fail to initialize. Again tech-support was nonexistent. If I could give this drive zero stars I would. I give MDD zero out of 10 stars.

Bought for future project, I've used the 14TB NAS version to upgrade my nephew's PlayStation, works without issue.

Installed without issue in Windows PC. Good as new but refurb pricing.

Great product and fast shipping

The first 14 TB works so well, that a bought a second. Great price. Quiet and runs fairly cool.

I've purchased 3 drives from MDD. 2 worked just fine. This one, not so much. No PC/OS will recognize the drive. Windows or Linux. Returning this one for a refund.

I purchased 4 of these in April 2024 and have been using them in a software RAID 6 configuration for my personal media server at home. Within two weeks of purchase one of the drives failed. The company promptly sent me a new one within a few days once I sent them the bad unit. I then rebuilt the RAID array and have run flawlessly for five months with no further failures. To be fair, I suspected one of the drives was bad when I first turned on the disk because it was making an odd clicking sound. All in all, I am very happy with price and performance for my needs since it's just personal media. Note that I would never use drives like this in a production business environment. That said I am very happy with these drives and will purchase more to keep as shelf spares and to grow my 8-bay RAID 6 stack.
