Inexpensive repair.
The door went about 3 feet up and down. Found the gear was worn down from 25 years of use. Getting the pin out was a chore , I used a phillips screwdriver to pound it out.

Fit Chamberlain model 5100 from 1995.
Easy install, appears to be the same type of plastic as the original. About an hour to remove from the top and replace. Can be done without removimg the motor.

Prefect replacement
This gear is the weakest link in this style garage door opener. The gear fit properly albeit a tad looser than the original. Changed the gear in about 15 minutes (there's a good video on you tube) added a little white lithium grease and the the opener was back i n business. Don't know about long term durability but its been a few weeks and so far so good. Highly recommend
