The unit is not waterproof. If it is to be used in a waterproof box it's advisable to provide cooling to prevent the coil from overheating. I used a polypropylene box with plenty of room to accommodate a computer cooling fan extracting through a hole protected by a louvre and providing ingress for ambient air

This unit is used to isolate the gas supply to my property in the event of an electricity failure. By cutting the gas supply would prevent a build up of CO as all gas equipment still functions.This unit does the job 100pc.Price is unbelievably low.Unfortunately the coil is not continuously rated,this could be achieved very simply by up grading insulation of coil without adding a fan .A spare coil would be useful to have.
