ERA 287-32 2.5-inch 64mm 2-Lever Rebated Door Lock with Brass Effect, Gold

The double doors between my living rooms had no keys from time I moved into house. Just couldn't seem to get anyway with getting replacement set of keys (without having one). Searched Amazon during lockdown and found the exact ERA Rebated lock and took a chance on ordering.Thought it was too big at first sight but then realised it was exact correct size. I just had to reverse the locking plate and the closing bolt and the whole thing including strike plate fitted exactly into the existing screw holes. So as a woman doing the job, this DIY replacement was just what I needed and finally I can lock those doors.

Bought to replace a similar lock which had seen better days (and didn’t have a key). Fitting fairly straightforward and all was fine until I came to actually lock the door. For whatever reason, the bolt decided to stick solid and then for good measure, the end of the key snapped off leaving me locked inside my house…………

Bought to replace an existing lock that had no key. Fitted into the existing lock easily and feels sturdy and locks smoothly.

This is much more tricky to install than a standard mortice lock, requires millimetre accurate carpentry which is hardly worth the trouble for a two lever lock. In retrospect it would probably have been better to fit a surface lock even though more unsightly.

Hard a hard job finding one of these for old patio doors and had a chippy job recessing but good quality overall - security is low due to small lever number so couple of deadbolt slide catches added

Fitting instructions not clear, I thought I had opurchased the wrong hand until I realised the end plate can be turned around !!Inside locking & unlocking with key has slick action.Outside locking does not function.

For the price, its a good buy
