Firstly, although this plugs into the cigarette lighter, it doesn't power it. It runs off a button cell. Once you have the unit, you need to programme it using an existing remote - and voila ! It took me about 5 mins from start to finish. When you press it make sure you hold it long enough for the blue light to show, then you know it has registered your press. You'll save a fortune over professional installers and it's really a doddle. Note - it is shipped from Germany and instructions are in German, but search the internet for any Hormann programming - it's the same principle for all remotes.

I had the working in no time and fitted into my car. I guess its not an essential thing but does make life easier since I always found myself fiddling around pockets to find my transmitter attached to my keys, now its just a case of reaching down and opening the door.I quite like the fact that its not powered by the cigarette lighter socket since it means it can be hidden away in the car and doesn't have to be placed there. Only thing which I'm not clear about is how to change the battery since its not too obvious from the instructions, but hopefully that problem will not be for some time.

Whilst most of these Hormann BiSecure accessories are over-priced for what they are, this fits perfectly in my car & works from a long enough distance I don't need to stop before entering the garage.Pairing instructions & battery are included & the pairing process was simple & completed in <30s using another hand-sender for the Promatic Series 4 garage door opener.

These little devices are great and we have one in each car. Ideal for opening and closing the garage, as they are designed to do, and fit neatly into the 12V socket so you never need to fumble with the remote key fob again. We are pretty rare at putting our cars in our garage since all of our neighbours seem to use theirs for storing their junk. If you have a Hörmann garage door opener and your frequently use your garage to keep your car in, get one of these.

Easy to program and fits neatly in the cigarette/aux socket. The opener is always easily accessible rather than getting buried under other things in the centre tray or door pocket..All Hormann garage door transmitters seem expensive to me, but lets hope this one is more reliable than the Hormann HSD2BS that was not robust.

Works fine, although the reach is not as great as the hand transmitters which came with the Garador 10. Still plenty. My only reservation, why on earth could they not make it so it draws current from the cigarette lighter. It seems daft that it still needs a battery, however, for my car, it creates a very convenient button to open the garage door as I am driving towards my property.

This item is not cheap, but an ideal piece of equipment for fitting in the cigarette lighter socket in a vehicle and for opening an electrically controlled garage door. It is easy to tune and easy to use.

Dead easy to program, has a great click feel to it when pressed and perfect for the car.. Couldn't ask for more
