Works well.
My previous FitBit was the original Charge HR, which had battery issues from the start. It was advertised as having a battery that would last a week, vut it never lasted much more than a single day, which then required more than an 8 hour charge. Unfortunately, that seemed to be everyones experience. I should have paid less attention to the overall satisfaction of users, and more attention to what they had to say about battery life. And when it failed several years ago, it was, unsurprisingly, a battery issue (it was lasting less than a day). And it persisted even after I replaced it. So I just put it in a drawer, several years ago.So before buying the Charge 5, I checked out all the reviews, and how long the Charge 5 holds a charge did not seem to be an issue at all. And the battery does indeed seem to last for a week! I haven't actually checked how long it actually lasts, but it is at least 5 days, possibly longer! My only issue is calling up the clock. The original Charge HR only required a quick turn of the wrist, and it turned on the display. The 5 has required tapping on the screen. Right now it requires 2 taps on the screen. It was originally one tap. I assumed that it is capable of responding to a turn of the wrist, so I changed it from 'Automatic' to 'Manual', and now I have to tap it twice. Not a big issue at all.Quite possibly it CAN turn on the day from a turn of the wrist, and I just haven't done my due diligence researching it.But so far, I am quite happy with it.

2nd FAILURE IN LESS THAN A MONTH
I've used Fitbit products for several years. I'm an avid fitness fanatic and enjoy the feedback on my sleep, exercise, as well as the badges you earn that keep you encouraged and going. However, since Google took over Fitbit I've been troubled with service and will be filing a report with the Fair Trade Commission. In short, a charge 5 failed in warranty. I contacted google July 26th and we troubleshot it over the phone determining that the battery had failed and that it would be escallated for replacement. Expect an email in 1 day asking for details and then a replacement thereafter. Email came on day 3 or 4. Responded promptly and allowed 2 weeks - nothing. Called Google, provided the reference number on the original email and was placed on hold a few times. I was asked for the basic information I had provided in the original response email. I was told I may get an email in a day or two explaining how to return the device. That email never came and no replacement was provided. Called again and was placed on several long holds and having been over a month since the device failed with no sign of Google backing their warranty, I ordered a replacement and the Asurion warranty on Amazon - figuring Amazon, unlike Google should back the warranty. I received the new charge 5 on Tuesday and Saturday night the screen lit up bright white, the watch buzzed a bit and the screen went blank. I noticed I had a low power email which I thought was odd as the app had showed me a 70% charge earlier that day. I charged the device overnight - nothing. I attempted to restart the device by pushing the black button on the charge cable according to instructions on Fitbit site - nothing. I have a constant red light displayed on the back of the watch and the display doesn't function. I am starting a claim with Asurion for a replacement. Sad part is that I have really enjoyed and grown attached to Fitbit service and products but from what I can tell I am either extremely unlucky or I have had two lemons in a row with one lasting 10 months and 1 lasting 4 days... and I need to find a new product. Be wary about purchasing the charge 5. Imho it is seriously flawed.Update: Amazon made this so easy. Love Amazon. Fitbit still has not provided any relief. I decided to try charge 6. If it fails I will be buying Garmin next go round.

Fraudulent company
I noticed my wife had an annual plan on the fitbit. I cancelled it and then noticed there was also a monthly plan. After investigation I found that there was an annual plan purchased on the fitbit site and ALSO on Google Play for the same account. This had been there for years. I called Fitbit several times. They refused to refund for the duplicate account. Originally they told me to contact Google to get the money back. I aksed how Google was supposed to know about the duplicate accounts. They never had an answer for that. I then said how about you refund the annual plan instead since they could see both. Then they got defensive and demanded I prove that both payments were for the same account. They can see that on their side. I will NEVER buy a fitbit again (and my whole family has them). Fraudulent company that would prefer to steal from customer than treat them well. BTW, there is no reason to pay for the premium app anyway as it adds almost no functionality. It is not required.

No large band, as indicated in description
Watch is fine, but instead of l and s bands., there was only a (too) small band, so I had to purchase a large band separately. Also, no instructions, so I had to figure it out from the app.

Product and service has deteriorated
This is my fourth Fitbit, and I have been a huge fan until now. I purchased it in October, and the initial setup was fine. There were many new features, but I mainly use them to track steps and monitor sleep. The sleep monitoring has never been great (there are times I am wide awake for periods, and it thinks I'm sleeping), but the steps have been great. It stopped tracking steps in November, and I had no sleep data. I spent hours trying to correct it, including a chat with Fitbit. The rep could not help me but asked for a five-star rating. Again this morning, it tracked steps for 2 hours and then stopped. I've tried to reset it several times and disconnected it from my phone. I can't reconnect, but it's now tracking steps on the device overall (but not by hour). I've turned the phone and Bluetooth on and off and will chat with Fitbit when I have time (I've wasted several hours again today) but I don't expect much. I think it's time for a non-Fitbit device.
