Would not recommend the washing machine, instesd, put it in the bath bath and follow " woolskin" instructions, the results are very good.

This product is intended for sheepskin rugs and Ugg boots. For a sweater I would use a gentle hand wash detergent and fabric softener. I wear a tee-shirt under my alpaca jumper.

I have had no problem with it hardening the leather BUT I always leave my rugs to air dry, I wouldn't put them on (for example) a radiator. I find that is what causes the leather to harden. It does a fab job on my sheepskin rugs and various sheepskin baby things, especially if you give them a good brush while they are still damp.

Hello--It leaves a light, pleasant fragrance of tea tree--it's not heavy or cloying.
