Q: Has anyone used this to bed a rifle action or an ar15 barrel extension? not the outer threads, but the cylindrical fit between be and receiver?

Not a good idea. There are other products that are made especially for this application that work much better..

No. This is used for thread locking for screws/bolts/nuts to secure in place.

Q: I have a 1/2" npt brass fitting in my steel compressor that leaks with pipe dope--will this seal the leak & hold 120 psi? thank you

The answer is yes if you let it fully cure for 24 hours before putting it into service. It will hold to just over 3300 psi.
