Most likely for water. For gas, it would depend on the gas density, and the sensitivity of your circuit. I was able to get some pretty precise nodes in my setup for other things, so provided you know the math needed to calibrate the system, it should get job done. Are you trying to measure the speed using flight time or doppler?
