Mercers Furniture Corona Solid Pine Blanket Box Ottoman

I now have somewhere to go during the apocalypse. This is the sturdiest piece of furniture I now own. Considering it was flat packed and self assembly, that's pretty good going. It was easy to assemble, in the sense that basically it's a box, but it did take some time putting on all the iron straps. I'm also not sure why the feet were left to screw on after the walls of the box were built--it would have been much easier to put them on when the bottom piece was still separate. Having said that, I enjoyed this assembly because once you start putting the iron straps on there's a very satisfying creak of wood being pulled into shape, so minor faults with my assembly were put to rights. This really is a very, very sturdy trunk. It looks exactly like the picture and looks fantastic on my oak wood floors. Big storage, lovely item.

Good solid construction, an absolute doddle to build as it is basically just a box. Some of the pilot holes were a little off however.... as another reviewer said, wait until the very last to add the lockable clasp...put those two items on together as the holes are slightly out....(thanks for that). Apart from that all holes were bang on. The chest actually looks better without the lock on in my opinion, but anyway it looks great, very smart, very functional and I think you'd struggle to buy the wood and fittings for the price it's selling for. Very happy. I sent a pic of the finished chest to my ex and now she wants one...!

Looks nice if you don’t look to close, a lot of hard work to build,some of it would not screw together properly as there were knots in the wood and has left gaps (I do know you get knots in wood I must have just been unlucky where they were)

Bought this as a gift, and have to say it's very impressive looking. It was incredibly easy to put together, all parts, even the screws, are numbered and the instructions are easy to followTook about an hour to put together, plenty of screws holding it together, not like most DIY places sell. Very sturdy and solid.Looks good. If you're after a strong, solid trunk that looks oldy world, this is it, worth every penny. Good size too.Delivery was surprisingly fast

When I got the flat pack it was really heavy and I had to unpack it to take it upstairs. The instructions told you which screws and such to use but failed to label which panel of wood was which (so that took some working out). My advice would be to use or rent an electric screwdriver (I didn't and trying to get them in was a nightmare). One problem area is when you have to put the top on, the back strip requires you to screw at a really awkward angle, again better done with electric screwdriver. However, once built I am ecstatic with the product, it's really sturdy and has a great amount of storage space, it's exactly what I hoped for. I can't recommend the box high enough!
