The weirdness of latex, perfected
The media could not be loaded. Bottom line: I’ve been sleeping with this pillow for about a week now and can confirm it’s a keeper.I am a small-framed side sleeper who has a habit of sleeping directly on top of her shoulder, and has rotated upper cervical vertebrae that causes some chronic neck pain. I also have the no-no bedtime habit of hanging out on my phone while in bed (sometimes for many hours at a time. Apologies to my sleep specialist…). This combo tends to make pillow shopping somewhat complex!I used a SleepEZ latex pillow for probably a decade before going through my options last year like Goldilocks, from the Purple Pillow (too hard) to the Coop Eden (great when the fluff is in one place, which is unfortunately rare)…After getting a Dunlop variation latex topper for our new bed, I was curious to try a Talaylay process latex pillow “just to see.” I’d been growing increasingly frustrated with the latter of the two pillows mentioned above because I wasn’t able to perch my face on the edge to use my phone without all the fluff displacing and leaving me on empty pillowcase. It also ran pretty warm, despite “cooling properties” in the shredded foam. Bummer for an already-hot sleeper.I found this while browsing frustratedly after waking up overheated at 4:30am — I read the mixed reviews, noted the reasonable price, thought “okay, why not — I can always return it if it’s a no-go,” and hit purchase. I also got a more expensive Talaylay latex pillow from Amazon at the same time so I could compare them. This one was the winner. It is so light and fluffy, like freshly baked bread with an odd-yet-satisfying jiggle to it. The shape is oddly cute as well, and with the sheer cotton cover, everything about it reminds me of some kind of East Asian pastry, like Japanese cheesecake? It’s *really* soft, like ridiculously soft, but your head will not sink all the way to the bottom like it will on memory foam. And, unlike memory foam, it will not become indented over time, does not off-gas toxic chemical smell (just a kind of rubbery vanilla wood scent that is non-toxic to humans), and it doesn’t retain heat at ALL.I took a chance with the high loft, after being turned off after years of lying on the dense, low SleepEZ. I didn’t realize how old, heavy, yellowed, and firm at the edges it had become with time until I had my hands on this brand new latex pillow. It’s felt ever so slightly too high for me, but my body is also adjusting to our new mattress and topper, and considering it’s already pretty close to perfect, I think I will adjust to it completely in no time. For those saying it’s firm, it’s REALLY not. It might have the illusion of firmness because of that durable latex sensation that keeps your head afloat on top (or slightly above the middle, in the case of this super-soft pillow) rather than allowing you to sink into it or bottom out like other materials. I can assure you this is as soft as it looks — poofy, buoyant, spongy, airy, light, bouncy, cake-like, squishy — *supportive*, but not firm.It actually feels a lot like the Coconut Bliss pillow sold at Mattress Firm, at least in sensation upon first inspection (the similarities end there).HOT TIP: If you’re not used to latex, you may find yourself straining to keep your head steady on the pillow because of said jiggle. Relax your head and neck — you’re not going to fall off! While latex certainly isn’t for everyone due to the jello-ish, floaty nature of it, this is the one for me. I really really like it, and encourage you to make the switch to latex if you’re interested :)

Very unusual feel, but I love it.
Soft and cushy, but you only sink about half way into it before it starts to firm up, so you really can't bottom out the way you do with feathers or the loose darkness filled types. None of the hot sleep sensation I get from the solid foam pillows, and absolutely light years better than the lumpy chopped foam garbage. It did have a slight odor upon opening, but that dissipated enough during the day that I never noticed it once I put a pillowcase on it and slept on it. I can still smell a tiny bit of vanilla-ish kinda scent after one night, but only if I bury my face in it. Side sleeping I don't smell a thing. Still way better than the chemical smells from the foam junk.

comfortable
Needs a few days for the odor dissipate but comfy

Ok, I loved it
Very soft and comfortable. The cover is basically just basic protection against bugs, dust, and dirt, but you still need your own pillowcase. Since the price is good, I think it’s fair. I don’t mind the smell; in fact, I actually like it because it reminds me of my new cars—that wonderful new car smell. If the smell bothers you, just leave it in a well-ventilated area for a few days. It’s worth it because you can sleep on your back or stomach comfortably. For side sleeping, though, I’d recommend a firm one.

Nice thicker pillow for side sleeper
The pillow is very nice and I would call it more of a medium soft and thick, but it not extra soft. Good for side sleepers but thicker and has more support than what I was looking for, still a very nice pillow. Re smells, it did smell for a couple days, just let it air before using if the smell bothers you.

Surprised how much I like it
I was starting to have neck pain and I tried many different pillows. Cheap ones to expensive ones. I had found one I was quite happy with but still had a curiosity about Latex pillows after reading so much about pillows for a month. So I gave one a try. I'm really glad I did because I love it.After a month, now I don't want any other pillow. This one is just perfectly soft and supportive at the same time. I ordered a firm one at first and I could tell it was going to hurt my neck. But the soft one is just right. Maybe if someone had a heavier head the firm one would be better but for me the soft one holds my head just perfectly. It is soft but doesn't fully collapse under my head.I would maybe like it more if this had the "cervical" shape to it but I can just bunch it up a bit if I want extra support. This did have a bit of an odor when I first opened it, but that went away after a couple days. I am really happy with this pillow.

NOT COMFORTABLE!!!
This pillow claims to be very soft, but it is no softer than the other one I ordered from this same company. There was no difference in the two pillows, just a different description to make you think you would be getting a softer pillow. I used it only one night, and after a fitful night's sleep awoke with a stiff neck, back pain, and a headache! The loft is too high for me, and it kept my head cock-eyed all night long. I DO NOT recommend!

High loft and hard as a rock!
I Purchased, this queen size pillow it was advertised as soft!Yes it’s thick and well made with normal latex foam smell that fades quickly. However, it is so thick and firm, when you pick it up and hold it in the middle from the sides (like you do to judge the softness of a latex foam pillow) it does not fold at all. You could probably place a 5 pound dumbbell on it and it wouldn’t sink to the bottom. It’s only functional to use as an in between the leg pillow.Obviously, that is why this pillow is on sale at such a drastic reduction.
