Hormel, Smoked Ham, 5oz Can (Pack of 6)

I used to find this all the time at grocery stores but now Amazon is my go-to for this must. I use three cans to make a ham-cheese ball for one party and the other cans to make a ham paté for anor.

I love this stuff , use it for lunch, mix in macaroni and cheese and make crescent ham and cheese lunch sandwiches.

I oft times heat a can of butter beans, or navy beans for my lunch. They aren't very flavorful, so I add a half can of Hormel Smoked Ham, some spices, & I have a tasty dish. The ham also makes a good sandwich. Just add a bit of mayo, a little pickle relish, crunchy lettuce, on a couple of slices of bread, = yummy! I also like a boiled egg, olive slices, or chopped peppers, added to the mixture. Just use your own imagination. For a family, this can is a bit small. I use a full can for 2 meals, but of course, the more condiments, the farther it will go. Please Amazon, restock soon!

When I was a kid, my mom would bake a ham for Christmas and at the point end, there was a small piece you could pull out that was so tender and good….and that’s what this ham reminds me of. I make sandwiches, casseroles, ham & bean soup, & sometimes I eat it right from the can. Yes, I know it’s not particularly healthy, but I love it.

Only fault (like all things these days) is price. Makes a tasty sandwich, but most often, I add a can to a large pot of slow cooking pintos and ham hocks for an additional flavor boost.
