Slimline design and beautiful resin shaft make for a great writing
Extra-fine nib makes writing on a wider range of paper a breeze (even standard quality copy paper). Slimline design and beautiful resin shaft make for a great writing experience

Bought as a gift. Good quality pen.

Poorly designed and uncomfortable to use
Good nib and a nice quality pen. However, the pen is really uncomfortable to use when writing. The "step" where the metal section above the nib meets the plastic is in the wrong spot. It is where I would naturally place my fingers when writing - but I can't do that on this pen because of the sharp step. This means I have to hold the pen higher than usual when writing which means it gets uncomfortable very quickly. If you like to hold the pen up high when writing - then this is ok. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.

Buyers Beware
Buyers beware! This a beautiful pen with a fabulous nib. It is well balanced and a joy to write with. But like other buyers I have found it leaks between the section and the barrel and between the section and the feed. This not a pen for “write and go” it needs very careful handling. It is a nightmare to change the cartridge guaranteed to spread ink everywhere.I love pens and I have found a way of minimizing this disastrous state of affairs but it will only ever be a desk pen and I wanted a travel pen.

Very good then became useless
Received this pen as a present, since then all my other fountain pens are in a drawer. Has a very smooth feel and has worked flawlessly for almost a year now. It is always with me.Warning: the pen without the cap is extremely light, the cap is very heavy and works as a counter balance when writing. Try this out as you may not like it. If you want a very light pen, leave the cap off.The M (medium) does produce a rather thick line, so no good for writing small font.*** Update 1 year later ***Cap of pen slowly became looser and now no longer stays on. Also, frequently the pen leaks ink around the nib. It still writes fluently as when I received it 2 years ago, but has become useless as I have wasted several shirts with ink blots now.Have send two enquiries to Faber-Castell for service, which never get a response regardless of the official-looking service form generated by the system. Hence taking the rating all the way down from 5 starts to 2 stars.

Worst fountain pen I have ever owned
I bought Ambition Faber Castell fountain pen several years ago. Its cap became loose in the first month and totally stopped clipping on to the body in 2 months time. This meant it came off in my pocket making huge ink markings on my shirt and jacket. Its resin body cracked where the metal insert of the nib screws onto, eventually parts falling off and making it impossible to screw it to the body. This happened without any dropping of the pen or any other mistreatment/accidents. As a result it was not possible to use it even as a capless dip-in pen. It is frustrating to see such a well known brand can produce such poorly designed product. It is unforgivable that they obviously do not follow up its performence hence still producing the same poorly made pen and selling it. So if you have not enough to anger and frustrate you in your life, and do not feel short changed by all sorts of industries, companies, I would recommend you to buy this pen. It will surely make you go through these emotions and frustrate you endlessly. It has been the most expensive disposable pen I had.

Good for everyday use "not cheap" fountain pen
I have a Farber-Castel fountain pen, Grip 2010 and I like the nib, so I'd like to another Farber-Castel, and I choose this one, because the review are good. Now, I love this one for everyday use.The nibs are totally different like ambition has fluently ink flow, compair with Grip; it has more scratches and I can write as pencils. But still I like both. The pen body looks like wood, but not.
