Great Metal detector. I purchased when they dropped the price a few months ago. If you have a lower priced metal detector and are looking for a good upgrade, this is the machine. Just as good as the equinox 800 for me since I won't be gold prospecting. The equinox 600 performs very well compared to my old minelab go find 60 detector. It has better range, much more reliability, is waterproof, and has amazing discrimination due to multi HQ frequencies. It can also identify targets much more specifically than cheaper detectors. You will be able to tell the difference between whether you are digging a nickel, penny, or quarter. Of course, you will still dig a lot of trash, but this is the case with all metal detectors. This is a great metal detector if you can afford it. It has many features that I haven't even explored yet. You can use it right out of the box though nevertheless. You won't be disappointed if you're looking for an upgrade. Don't forget to get a good pinpointer too! Good luck.

Old guy hereThe only downside for me about this amazing detector is that I didn't have it 60 years ago (back then hardly saw any other detectorists) ......Ok so this review isn't a review per say but a praise of the FANTASTIC AI algorithm of its multifrequency and incredible intuitive pod as well as the detector design. So, here's my opinion for what's it worth, all other detectors are behind the eight ball to the Minelab's tech and trying to catch up. TRUE MULTIFREQUENCY, nothing out there even compares to it! These Minelab series are stunning in their power to deep seek (a quarter at 11to 12" down is pretty skull pounding amazing) and find the good stuff.....I've only had this extremely light weight detector less than a month, don't really know how to program it very well but Minelab quick start makes that NOBRAINER easy in minutes. Lots of coins and lots of rings found on pounded beaches. Every signal is an adventure unto itself. Definitely it will grip you to see what the signal frequency number is....Yes there expensive but if you can pull it off, don't short yourself with second best, get the best out there and have adventures and fun. Don't worry about paying for it will pay for itself, as Amazon store card has some great ways to get it and try it with no out of pocket. Oh and the best settings for this detector is to turn it on.

First off, please ignore the negative review about silver on edge. This has been fixed by Minelab and if you have the latest update it will detect silver on edge no problem.I would argue this and the 800 are the two best all-in-one metal detectors on the market under 1k. If you're like me and just want 1 detector that can detect deep targets, work well in high trash areas, go to the beach, and not worry about getting caught in the rain, look no further. There might be deeper detectors out there or ones better in salt water, maybe even better at target ID. I assure you though there's not a single detector with a single coil out there that's better at ALL these things.The instructions are clear, after charging it you can get up and running in a few minutes. The factory modes are good enough in most circumstances, but it also offers the ability to tweak if needed. If I had to find something to complain about I guess I would say the shaft connection points could be a little heavier duty, other than that I am incredibly satisfied with the 600's performance.

I’ve owned this detector for about a year and half now and have been very happy with it.I’d say the best thing about this metal detector is the fact that it is easy to use straight out of the box for a beginner, but also has many advanced features that would make it useful for a pro who wants to do some serious detecting. For those more advanced features, there is a bit of a learning curve but so far I’ve been quite successful at using just the standard settings to find objects. The instruction manual that you can get online in PDF format is quite extensive and would be your go-to guide to master the machine. I still read it all the way through before I even turned the unit on. It’s expensive but if you know where to look and have a little luck I’m sure you can earn ten times over what this costs.

This thing is really amazing . there's a learning curve but once you figure it out its really immpressive. Now having said that, I got it at a great price, when I started running it it didn't take long to figure out I was in a little over my head. if you don't metal detect a lot and just want to want to turn on and go I would look elsewhere. It can be set up to do that , but its way more advanced then that. You can buy a much cheaper machine if you want to do that. I would recomend it the enthusiast who wants to metal detect a lot and will use it's advanced features.

Very high-quality detector, easy to set up and use. Does not have as many options as the 900 but it doesn't have the higher price either. Great detector for experienced or beginner.

This is a good product and works extremely well. It is very easy to use and identifies targets deep in mineralized wet sand.I would give it 5 stars but the build quality is certainly lacking and I cannot see this product standing up to the rigors of metal detecting for more than 2 years.Well I am back to add to my review. As I said this unit has build quality issues and just after using it for a few months the coils ears have now broken. Not good. 😡

I am new to metel detecting this is my first detector after learning to use it it is amazing I have fire acres of woods I have been going back there this thing is capable of finding a .22 cal bullet 6 or seven inches underground being on a learning curve I dig most hits I have now found numerous bullets a quarter a dime and a couple of pennies
