Took a beating without a problem!
Installed on a utility body work truck for new construction site power. At first had a 50 amp 12 volt breaker feeding the inverter but kept tripping . Replaced the breaker with a 300 amp 12 volt fuse ( I am only concerned with protecting the auxiliary battery from a catastrophic failure of the inverter or its wiring. Main positive feed is 250 KCMIL welding cable from the battery to a distribution block before the fuse so we're good ).As electricians the first test was a long 500 foot plus wire pull in conduit with an 8000 foot pound rated tugging machine. The pulling head draws between 15 and 30 amps depending on the resistance of the pull. This pull had the pulling head screaming multiple times maxing out for an hour and the inverter never quit. (May have been conduit damage under the slab during backfill) . We then pulled in 5 more runs of a little less length again without skipping a beat. Hammer drills, grinders, light duty charging. I am impressed so far. Definitely recommend.

4 yes, 2 units = solid eh. updated review: replacement inverter has same issue
Updated 5/2020 after 4 years and 2 of these im re lowering my rating to 3 stars. If you use this all the time then be prepared for it to stop working after 1 to 2 years. I guess it's not a terrible deal, but if you have the money now, just invest in a pure sine wave inverter that is tough and built for constant use. I recommend only getting one where the fuses are reachable, as that is a pretty common issue with inverters. In both of the 2 of this model though.... that wasn't the problem. Something else must have overloaded cuz they quit working when something larger was powered... within adequate range and properly sized circuit breakers in place.Eh. Seems it could be a few bucks cheaper for what I actually got, but hey it powered my whole little house for about 1.5 years each, so it did what it was meant to.___The first few months the original inverter ran great, was able to power some bigger items --nowhere near 3000 watts, but none of these things seem to deliver the promised watts. Then one day it just quit powering up. The USB ports work, but the AC outlets gave zero power. After trying everything I could think of to test the incoming power was adequate, etc, I opened up the unit to check fuses. There are 8 40 amp car fuses inside, but they all looked and tested fine. --note to others, great idea to have these on hand, as these fuses blowing is a main issue for many people, though not in my case.I contacted the company through the VERY CONVOLUTED support system and was told it sounds like the unit is defective and they will replace it. After some jumping of hoops, they did send a replacement inverter, and it is working fine so far. Of course the other one worked fine for some months too, before stopping working, so we shall see :) I will come back and update the this review when more times has passed to let you know if this one outlasts the 6.5 months the other lasted.update 3/7/2019 the replacement inverter has had zero issues for several months now. I'm increasing my rating from 3 to 4 stars.

Durability
The media could not be loaded. The price was reasonable and the product looked sturdy. The manufactures specifications indicated that the PI 3000 would meet my needs of running loads up to 3000 watts. So on that basis I purchased this item in May 2018.At first the inverter did work to manufacture's specifications. I had a 1/2 horsepower 120 volt water pump which drew about 8 amps ac current, connected to the inverter. This arrangement was to be used only during emergencies. No problem until six months later I discovered that the pump would not operate on the emergency hookup.I then proceeded, with the help of a watt meter, to determine what load this inverter could presently handle.First I tried a lamp about 20 watts. No problem! Then I added a 9 watt lamp still no problem, next I added a laptop computer which took me up to a total of 65watts. So far so good! Going higher, I added a DVD player and a VHF transceiver. The watt meter was totaling just under 100 watts, but still no problem. I took a bigger leap and added a 500 watt vacuum cleaner. Here is where the problem began. Everything shut down, no beeping, no red light. Finally, I tried just connecting a space heater alone (about 790 watts) but the inverter could not handle the load.I tried the above procedure a second time with the same result. An update to the above test was followed up with a air space heater (see attached video) The heater was first tested withfan only on, drawing only 16.5 watts and of course, no problem. Next the heater was turned on and watt meter indicates 800 plus watts. Needless to say, the Potek 3000w cannot handle the load.I have explained all of the above to the Potek support people however, i am yet to receive a satisfactory answer from them. They have claimed an eighteen month warranty for Quality-Related Issues. It would be helpful if Amazon can also give advise on how to handle this situation.Update March 14, 2019After many attempts to resolve this issue with Potek, the support staff finally restored my confidence in the company by honoring the warrantee period and refunding my investment. For this , I am very encouraged. Thank you Potek, well done!

Great Customer Service
The 5 stars are for Potek's customer service; I haven't had a chance to use the inverter yet but my experience with this company's customer service was second to none. I bought this inverter back in April and after it was installed on my RV solar system and tested, everything was a-okay. I didn't have an opportunity to travel in the RV so the unit sat there unused until July. Prior to my travel plans, I tested all the systems in the RV and the inverter was alarming for no discernible reason. After trouble-shooting and having a technician look at it, we determined that something was malfunctioning on the inverter. I was quite dismayed because I had a trip planned a couple of weeks out and I imagined I would probably have to buy a new inverter and write the Potek off as a loss in order to leave on my trip as planned. I contacted Potek expecting to be told I'd needed to send in the malfunctioning inverter to resolve the issue and so on. Nope, they immediately sent out a new replacement inverter - and it arrived before my planned trip. There was no cost to me for the replacement. Awesome customer service!

Best ever
I originally bought this back in December for my semi truck driver husband, this last week something happened and it all of a sudden stopped working. I reached out to the company just to see if there was something I could do to fix or reset it. They immediately responded saying they would send us a new one. I have them my address and they responded immediately again letting me know they would send it out and it would be about a week. 3 days later it arrived at my house!! Seriously the best experience ever!!
