It has a water proof outer layer, so it's incredibly good as long as you're not submerged (it'll get into the legs).

Q: I'm 5'0 and 115lbs. Any advice on whether I should get a small or x-small?

I am 5'7", 32 waist and 32 inseam and went with the small. Fit pretty well. I wear my work jeans under them. Wore them today to work in a nasty, wet, muddy crawl space. Bending, stooping, crawling. They do not breath well and I was hot, but I wasn't wet.
