Great addition to tool kit

I have tried a fair few telescoping construction retrieval tools in my time, and this one is one of the better specimens. It is certainly the longest I’ve ever owned at 184cm (without any attachments installed, handle length included). It is constructed quite well for a telescoping tool, dare I say ‘heavy duty’ but it is effectively just a scaled up radio antenna, so it should be treated as such. It is therefore strongest when used longitudinally, or in other words, from directly above or in line with the load. Lateral forces will lead to flex and possibly permanent bending or breakage. The telescoping segments do have plenty of resistance between them, so they will not collapse when being used to push something with the hook, for example.The thread for the attachments is standard 1/4”-20 UNC, which is what most camera tripods use. Speaking of attachments, the small magnet (as pictured numerous times in the product images) was not present. There is a magnet included, but it is permanently affixed to the end of the ’hose’ or gooseneck attachment. The product images show this part as having a male thread on one end and a female on the other, but this is not the case.The magnet and gooseneck are joined with a single cast piece and no amount of effort will separate the two. This is a shame because not only would it have been useful to have the magnet fixed in line with the rod, but the gooseneck could have been used with the hook as well, were there indeed a female thread on the end as pictured. It is because of this significant deviation from the product listing that I have given a rating of three stars—not because this is a poor product overall but because the product images and description tell a totally different story to the actual scope of delivery.Other than that, the mirror works fine for viewing subjects close to the mirror itself but not for distant viewing, which is not a surprise given it is made of acrylic and can therefore warp. The included fabric case is a nice touch, and is of surprisingly good quality. The hook is a sturdy affair and is probably the most useful attachment included, second only to the magnet. In summary, this is a decent product, but the deal doesn’t feel so sweet when you don’t quite receive what you were sold.

Just what I wanted. For those things that fall down the back of stuff. Ideal. Sturdy. Very pleased.

Absolutely amazing!!! This small decide has given my mum back her independence after 6 years as she can now finally pull her wheelchair to the car using this telescopically on her own without help!
