Efficient and Powerful
I’ve used a few immersion blenders over the years, and this one from Vitamix stands out for its power and build quality. It feels sturdy in the hand and has a nice weight to it—not too heavy, but solid enough that it doesn’t feel cheap. The motor is strong and blends things quickly and evenly without struggling. The 3-piece set is really convenient. I use the blending jar all the time for smoothies and sauces—it’s the perfect size for small batches, and cleanup is easy. The blade guard is also well-designed; it doesn’t scratch up my pots when I'm blending soups directly in them.Overall, it’s clear this was made with care. It does what it’s supposed to do really well, and I find myself reaching for it more often than I thought I would. Definitely happy with the purchase.

Quiet, works quickly and well!
Since having this I’ve made a lot more smoothies and haven’t used my regular blender, which I loved. But I now have no need for it. I put my smoothie ingredients in a jar, stick this stick in, turn up the volume, and blend. I would say having such a quality product has made me eat healthier because it’s been so easy to do the blending. And very easy to clean. Small profile and the carrying case is nice touch, too. I once had a very cheap immersion blender and am glad I spent the money for a good one. It’s worth it!

Exceeded expectations. Powerful.
I regret that I did not buy this sooner. I wanted a handheld blender to replace my heavy duty counter top blender, but wasn't sure a handheld blender could handle the task. I make protein smoothies daily. My smoothies are the consistency of slushies: starting with frozen fruit and heavy on ice cubes. After hours of reading many technical comparisons (Good Housekeeping, NY Times, Serious Eats, etc.), many customers' reviews, and watching videos; I chose the Vitamix. The Vitamix was one of three that made almost every list, Vitamix usually being first or second. Big concern was could it handle ice cubes. I contacted tech support to ask that important question. The first company (one of the other top rated brands) replied that their handheld blender was not made to handle ice. When I asked tech support from Vitamix, they almost laughed. Now I know why. The Vitamix blasts ice cubes to smoothie texture in seconds. It does not even slow down. Also, Vitamix has a four-blade design compared to two blades for most other handheld blenders.Clean up with the Vitamix is a breeze. Stick the business end in a glass of water with a squirt of detergent, turn it on for a few seconds, rinse and done. It also freed up a lot of space on my kitchen counter.Caution: It is heavy. The women in the videos made it look easy, but my wife who is 77 has some difficulty. However, after some practice, she has been able to use it by holding it with both hands. I don't recommend it for use by children. Also, the Vitamix is powerful enough to require some practice to get used to handling it.Recommendation: I bought some stainless steel tumblers that are large enough to make my smoothie right in my drinking container, eliminating another step.

Love love love it
I've had a Vitamix blender for over 15 years so I know the quality. I finally decided to get this immersion blender because I'm into making blended soups and this seemed useful for that purpose. (It's great!). I read about all the brands, many of which were half the price, but decided on Vitamix because I know and love their products, their high quality, and their longer warranty period. I also got a really great deal on a kit which included the beater attachment and the case, both of which were a ridiculous price when added on separately. Amazon's price was less for the package deal than the blender itself when sold separately anywhere else including Amazon. What is really interesting, is literally a few days after my purchase, the package price popped up to a price nearly $50 more than I just paid. I've seen that happen before with other items, too. I can't explain it. Maybe my low price was some kind of error? How does the blender work? Fabulous. Some have said it's heavy. I consider it substantial but not really that heavy. It works great and is easy to use. I always use it on the slowest setting. For the soups I make, I don't want them pulverized into a totally creamy texture so I operate it by pulsing on and off. That way I control the texture and don't overdo it. It goes together easily, just a quick twist. Cleaning it is very easy....get a deep container with a few inches of water with some dish soap in it, and turn the blender on for a few seconds. Clean as a whistle. Just rinse the soap off, dry it and you're done. Final note: I have a couple of soup recipes that add some cheese at the end. Most recipes say add the cheese and whatever final items go into the soup, then blend it to your desired consistency. I modify that to blending the soup BEFORE adding cheese and add it after the blending process, stirring and with a bit of added heat to help melt it. By doing things this way, cheese doesn't get on the blender blades. I found that when cheese gets on the blades, it take some time and more effort to get the cheese off.Final observation: Many blenders I looked at were metal at the bottom. The Vitamix bottom is covered with something like a silicone or perhaps rubber or plastic coating, which protects your pan bottom. This was important to me since I use this mostly with an Enamel coated cast iron pan and I wanted to avoid scratching. Highly recommended and this blender will last forever.

Very Powerful Blending, Easy to Clean, Stores in Small Spaces
This stick blender performs better than a traditional glass countertop blender. It can blend ice drinks quickly. Unlike a traditional blender, by moving this Vitamix up and down vertically in your container, there are no ice or fruit chunks remaining. It is ideal for blending frozen fruit into smoothies or margaritas. Due to the power, you should use a tall canister for blending frozen fruit to avoid splattering. I use stainless canisters sold on Amazon labeled as a 'countertop utensil holders'. Amazon sells canisters in various sizes. The case included takes up very little space in a kitchen cabinet compared to a traditional blender. This Vitamix unit has much more power than inexpensive sticks so I expect it to last through 1,000s of margarita and smoothie batches.
