It is an excellent product; being very simple to operate and versatile with a maximum time scale of 48 hours and so easy to clean. Good value for money on Amazon.

I purchased this during this week and have used it a few times, a couple while I was at home (to check it did work) and once while I went to work (it did work).It is a great little item and my cat was not scared by it atall. Like some other reviewers have said he did scratch it about a bit trying to get in, but unlike others he was unsuccessful and gave up in the end.My main gripe is with the section underneath which is meant for an ice pack. They have moulded the plastic for a pack to sit within, however even the smallest ice pack I had made it impossible to close the lid when the pack was in place. Not a great design and they should have left the compartment completely hollow which would have given more scope for ice packs.I did not want to take the risk of buying even more ice packs so.......Not to be deterred, I did a bit of research and discovered that if you put some rice in a small ziplock bag (I double bagged it) and freeze, it does sit nicely in the centre of the compartment and you are able to close the lid. Hope this helps someone.My cat has to have wet food (order of vet due to dehydration problem) so I am not sure how this contraption will satisfy in very hot weather. I may have to see if the occasional dry meal will be acceptable. I only have to use the feeder a couple of times during the week.

I have a small pug. This works great when we are going to be out during her feeding time. Have not tried the cold pack holders as we only feed dry food so I can not comment on that. I can see how a determined dog or cat might be able to get a paw or tooth under the lid and pop it open. My dog has never done this. This works very well for our needs.

Extremely disappointed with this purchase! I filled the bowls with dry food and set the timer for an hour just to test it. My cat got her paw into both sides within minutes and steadily ate her way through both portions. I realised after some time that the lids hadn't popped open and discovered that the countdown/clock/timer mechanism is not working, meaning the item is completely useless.Very cheap and flimsy, what a waste of money.

Have bought three now, returned one and have just given up on them.They just seem to suddenly stop working, which results in hungry distressed pets, which defies the object of having them.Bought one as a gift for a friend, same happened.Its not like they're cheap either. I used to have a wind-up feeder which was round and the lid rotated to reveal 4 sections.Only did 24hours but had it for years. Will go in search of another......

Didn’t really work too well. It’s cheap plastic, and although a simple mechanism I’m not sure it always worked due to the poor quality. Would be easy to clean if working.

This is so convenient and simple to use, the clockwork dials make it easy for those who hate setting up digital timers. I have 4 of these now and it allows me to stay away overnight without worrying about my cats. Can be used for wet or dry food.

Very quiet and works a treat, what would be better is an ice pack or something to keep it chilled for second tray as it's been in there for a while as I have a snobby cat that likes fresh food.
