Maybe not for every neck shape when stowed
I bought this capo to try on my banjo because it conveniently stows at the top of the neck over the nut when not in use. Even though I have D'Addario capos, I wanted to try this one. It is a nicely made capo and is mechanically excellent. However, it doesn't work well for my banjo because of the shape at the back of the neck causes the tension screw to angle back toward where I sometimes rub into it when fretting notes at the first fret.If you think you want one of these, maybe try one from a friend before purchasing to see how it fits the neck of your banjo.

I don't trust this on my nicer banjos
This product is well made, but maybe not well thought out. The sides are metal and fit very closely to the neck of my deering deluxe. I noticed the tight fit when I first installed it, and I'm glad I did. I intended to keep this on the nut at all times and slide it down when needed, but I have decided to go back to a clip on capo. If I were to slide this from the nut to a position a few frets down, I would risk scratching both sides of the neck, and that would stink. There are nicer options out there if you're willing to pay the price. Or just get a clip on and keep it in your case.

No more lost capo....
Easy to install and use. Works as well as my clip on capo. Just slide it up to the nut when you don't need it. Will not interfere with storage in a case or on a stand, but does have to be removed if you hang your instrument. I love this capo because I don't have to keep up with it. It's always there when I need it.

Best. Capo. Ever.
I am a huge fan of Paige capos. One travels with my main guitar and is a vital part of every show or open mic I do. I love how they just sit above the nut when not needed and slide into place quickly and easily on demand. They exert even pressure and I have yet to find a capo that has a smaller impact on the tuning of the instrument. When I needed a capo for a new banjo the paige was a natural and easy choice. Recommended.

The standard for banjo capos
Much more convenient than the Shubb I used to use, you never lose it when it's stored behind the nut. The adjustable tension makes it possible to use without throwing the banjo out of tune as much. Notice it's a little sharp after putting thr capo on? Loosen it a hair. Easy peasy.

Easy to use and gentle on my mandolin!
After I figured out how to attach it to my mandolin (since this is my first stringed instrument with frets and my first capo!), it was super easy to use and did not cause any buzzing. I can either store it in the case or on/behind the nut when I'm not using it. It also hasn't marked the neck of my mandolin, which kind of worried me before I got it.

Works great.
This capo works great for me. It fits my Old Time open-back banjo neck just fine. Finally I am not losing capos right and left. It does take a minute to loosen and re-tighten, and I have to re-tighten it again above the nut when not in use so it doesn't keep sliding into my moving fingers. Not as quick as a spring capo, but faster than a search, which was often happening. Its always right there where you need it.

Great Versatile Capo
This is a great capo. Versatile and easy to use on multiple instruments. However, if you want to capo further up the neck on the banjo, you're better of with a shubb style capo. Also, this model does not have the quick release button like the guitar paige capo I've purchased. This was on me to research the item more. All in all, I am happy with this item.

This is the one to get
After trying various types/makes of capo for my 5-string banjo this one is the best. No problem with going out of tune at all. Initially a bit fiddly to attach but once it's there it can just be loosened a bit and slid down the neck where it can be kept until needed again. Really pleased with this.

Excellent mandolin capo
This is without doubt the most effective mandolin capo I've used. The pressure is applied evenly across the strings so you never run the risk of finding the top E pair of strings, in particular, not ringing as they should (this having been a common problem with other capo designs). It's a neat sized capo and can be conveniently left above the nut.

Really pleased with this capo
As a beginner banjo player, I didn't want to spend too much on a capo. After reading some other reviews, I went for this one, and I'm really pleased that I did.Works really well. Looks good. And very tactile.Plus I got a really nice, hand written note from the seller too!

Really very well pleased with this capo
Really very well pleased with this capo. It is easy to fit and quick. Because you can keep it on the Banjo/Mandolin when you don't need it, that is what makes it really special.
