An old, basic model
The Bburago 1/18 E Type Jaguar is a nice, solid but fairly basic model that’s a perfect candidate for detailing. This casting has been around since at least the mid 1980’s and it shows, although at least you now get a decent paint finish due to the electrostatic paint process. They’ve had a go at cleaning up the casting, especially on both rear three quarters as there used to be a mould seem running down each side which has now gone but left a slightly uneven finish. The rear lights now have more detail and although the wing mirrors have gone you do now get windscreen wipers, sort of, in the form of three tampo printed black wipers on the windscreen, a bit of an oddity but better than nothing. For the £20 asking price with free delivery you really can’t complain but I wouldn’t want to pay too much more for this model as it is rather lacking when compared to other 1/18 models from the same Bburago/Maisto garage. If you like the E Type and don’t want to spend £200 to £300 on a model then get one of these, it’ll look just fine on the shelf.

Disappointed
The overall finish wasn't very good compared with the 59 mark 2 saloon there was no comparison it looked like it was made by a different company

A beautiful and well made E-type 1-18 model
A truly amazing model and I have quite a few, this is well worth the money and although its not as good as the Franklin mint model I have, its pretty close. Nicely made and the bonnet tilts and is connected to a metal chassis that runs the length of the model, the drivers door does not open as far as the passenger one, but this is a minor quibble and there are some minor pain flaws if your ultra fussy (which I am not). I have been waiting to find a model of this quality and price for a long time and my collection has a center piece.
