DAKAR DESERT RALLY - PlayStation 4

I thought this series was a generic low effort car game like the recent trash thats flooded the market but after watching a ton of gameplay vids i was sold and do not regret it.This is what i wish a rally game would be. Wrc and dirt rally are more sim focused in strict single lane tracks. They had no variation and just was focus on driving the car not where you're driving. Need for speed payback came close with open world in the desert but was kinda poor quality graphics and nfs has it's own issues. Wrc focused too much on team management that it ruined the experience.Here you have car and go hog wild in an environment to progress. Graphics look really good especially on ps5 digital upgrade. While its not as story focused as nfs or wrc team its content is entertaining enough to be a serious contender for offroad open area racing games. I dig it and i hope this niche continues in the future. Its just sad that its almost impossible for new games to break into the scene here because of extremely high cost licensings fees to manufacturers.If you like offroad racing and rally in massive areas then give this a shot. Theres no one single way to get from point a to b and that freedom adds in a huge breath of fresh air imo.

having the steering wheel set up makes it cool

I recently bought 20 racing games for the PS2-3 & 4. (I am retired, so allow me my folly). And I am constantly brought back to Dakar. It received poor reviews from IGN, but I disagree. This game is a blast to play. I have gotten up to Level 20 in Sport Mode, using the same vehicle. (Audi Sport). The loading times are lengthy, but when you see the epic expanse you will be racing on, you wont mind. Thought the handling was fine. Mistakes are made by the driver. Learn the road, and don't hit anything. (Easier said than done). Checkpoint to checkpoint racing. Give this game a try.

Cannot play the game, can’t set controls properly and says errors when none can be found. Problem is not our console nor user error
