Good product design,very quiet, thermostat works well on the flu, when the fan comes on it does blow hot air around the room quite well.

We bought this fan as it was recommended by our chimney sweep. It is great, it really pushes the heat around the room. It is virtually silent and fairly unobtrusive as it is designed to sit at the rear of the log burner. Our room is about 20 foot by 15 foot and I have a wall thermometer. I found that with the addition of this fan, the temperature was raised by around 2 degrees and reached the mean temperature around 15 minutes quicker.I found the addition of the flue thermometer a great addition, this ensures that you have the optimum burn rate, which not only makes sure that you get the best efficiency out of your burner, but also that you don't needlessly burn too many logs or coal.We have had it for around a year now, and it still works absolutely fine. I can't imagine what benefits a more expensive one would offer?

Reviewed after 2 months of everyday use. As it is black it is hardly visible in the chimney recess above the stove. It is quiet, and whilst the increased heated air distribution is unobtrusive it is clearly doing its job. Positioned to one side of the flue the warm air that side can be felt much more than the other side. Considering buying another one to put the other side of the flue, but will wait to see if this one lasts the winter. Some reviewers have said theirs died young!

We have a new log burner, one which is better suited to using one of this type of fan than our previous model, upon which we placed a small Vaillant fan, costing over twice the price of this unit.At this point, may I say that I have no complaints about our Vaillant fan, it works, the customer service is exceptional (they provided me with a new part, no cost, not even for postage) but this fan is superior in every way. We purchased it as the Vaillant fan, whilst ok, was a little small for our large sitting room and needed some help and I felt that I would purchase this item.The enclosed thermometer is ok, but I wouldn't rely to much on its accuracy. It can be either magner mounted, screwed into the flue or tied on with wire. Unfortunately the magnet does not work on my flue and whilst a screw was included to fix it to the flue, I see little point in placing a hole in the flue which might damage the integrity of the flue metal over time, I have therefore fastened it to the flue using stainless steel wire which I subsequently sprayed to blend in - the thermometer works, but I would suggest that knowledge and experience of your burner tells you whether it is burning at the right temperature.So how does it compare to the Vaillant:1. It starts to spin far ahead of the Vaillant model - which may be due to it being new, but worth a comment2. It spins much faster, significantly faster and whilst it is larger, the fan effect is significantly more effective3. Less than half the price, although time will tell if it is as good as the Vaillant4. It appears to be of similar build quality to the VaillantIt is early days yet, but after three weeks of running this item, were I to be considering purchasing another unit, I feel that this is the model I will go for.RECOMMENDED

Smart looking and reasonably priced. Spreads the warmth from the log burner well. Well worth buying !

I was a bit sceptical at first about this item, but there was clearly no need.I've only used it once and my wife and I have noticed the difference straight away, we sit slightly off centre to the stove and my wife noticed a very slight draft coming from behind her, so after doing a little research I came accross this fan.Fast delivery was good, and it arrived before estimated delivery date which was a nice surprise.The instructions were plain and simple. Just stick it on the back of the stove and you're ready to go.It works really well at distributing the heat around the room and it is whisper quiet so you forget it's even on. The included thermometer is a good addition too, just plonk it on the flue and you can instantly see the running temperature of the stove.Only after one night I love this product.

Great item, does it's job well, i also use this as visual deterrent for our children. I've told them if the fan is moving then the log burner is hot even if there's no flames !. So far so good no burnt fingers.
