Yeezus is the sixth solo album from US rapper Kanye West.

masterpiece
The simplest way to describe this is to say that it's the exact opposite of Kanye's Debut The College drop-out in every way. While his début had a polished old school sound, was lyrically clever and full of long tracks and skits, Yeezus is raw, direct and at times genuinely terrifying. Its not his best lyrically but is still has enough good lines to impress, and a few icky ones.It begins with the raw daft punk produced 'on sight' and moves on to the glam rock sounding Black skin head, from here the scale just gets bigger, the next few track are all massive sounding, politically motivated stompers, that only someone as mad as kanye could make.'Blood on the leaves' samples nina simones' 'Strange Fruit' into a James Blake style ballad before going a bit mental. I also love the track Bound 2 and what ever songs it samples.Overall despite using a huge amount of samples and guest artists, this is very much Kanye's album. The production is grand as you'd expect and you can never quite predict which way a song will go, its not far off from some of the track on Kendrick Lamars, 'Good Kidd, m A.A.D city' in the way that the songs change direction and feel more like one or two tracks rather than just one song.I love this album, its a record that only kanye could make, 10 bold, raw, angry and amazingly non-commercial songs that will sell millions regardless.

Some of his best work
This won't be a mainstream album and Kanye isn't expecting it. Its numbers will be decent enough but not to the same level his earlier works got. Its meant to be creative and pushing boundaries of hip hop which has seriously stagnated post 2007 except for a handful of rappers. He can make gully rap with his eyes closed and did that last summer with the GOOD Music album. The music production to this album is refreshing but the lyrics are a bit average for Kanye. Stand out quotable - "I be speaking Swaghili". WARNING: You may find it jarring on the first play. And if you go skipping through the tracks you may finish listening to it in 5 minutes and put it away under a rock under Common's "Electric Circus" album, where it definitely doesn't belong. Listen to it on a drive and give the album a chance to breath and have your attention. Lets face it we live in a world that's made us slightly ADHD. While other rappers play it safe, Kanye pushes himself as not many rappers around him are. Let's see what Kendrick Lemar's "Control" verse does to the game.

Epic!
Kanye West is a musician a bit like Marmite: you either love him or hate him. I love him!My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was one of my favourite albums of 2010 and Yeezus is similarly epic in an entirely different way!I personally think that points to how incredibly talented Mr West is - able to produce albums of startling difference but always maintaining a quality unsurpassed by anyone else in his field. So, anyway, Yeezus is incredibly flawed lyrically, hard to listen to sonically, but absolutely brilliant!!(Incidentaly, I bought this whilst Amazon had it for download at £4.99)

Great sound!
First of all, I'm just going to open up and say I'm not one of Kanye's biggest fans. I just haven't really liked much of his material, with the exception of songs like Gold Digger. However, having listened to a few song from this album, I can just say that this is one of those album which definitely fits with my taste, and definitely deserves some form of praise. I recognise that whilst I don't like a majority of his stuff, he is obviously a highly influential man, and this record is the result of someone who has reached a pedestal in which experimentation is bound to happen, with mixed-but-wonderful results.Whilst there are a couple of tracks on here I could do without, its definitely worth a listen

Tape was a different size and colour, but still 10/10
The tape was inaccurate compared to the cover of the album and there was a part of the tape you need to separate but it was all in good condition

Brilliant
Such an amazing album! After "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" one could wonder how on earth will Kanye top that and, well, he did!The songs are great, the lyrics are, well, Kanye and the package... well one could think that this package doesn't worth buying. I was torn as well but once I got my hands on it the first words I uttered were "This is genius".Definitely a must buy.

patchy CD
After being away from Kanye's material for a while and seeing the glowing reviews for this I thought I would give him another try as he's always managed to create some strong interesting tracks on his albums . Unfortunately he seems to have forgotten to put any good hooks on his tracks and were frequently just left with a basic backing track with Kanye doing his Mr Angry & Mr ego over the top . The opening track is particularly unlistenable with a poor quality synth / bass which just sounds ugly . A couple of the songs such as I am god and hold my liquor show a bit more creativity but overall the good bits aren't enough to sustain this CD . Interesting that no track has been released as a single - maybe that tells us more about the quality of the material which is not up to his usual standard
