Great gadget I would never be without!
I have been a huge Roomba fan for many many years, and this one has replaced (well, the old one is going to our caravan!) the 581 model.So impressed with it's cleaning ability, and amazed with how far they have come with intelligence of cleaning and design of the cleaning system too!There really isn't much to say, apart from it is an amazing hoover, it may seem expensive, but it is such a timesaver. We have ours running at 3am in the morning cleaning the living room, and it only takes about 30 minutes to complete, but it is so quiet too! Get to it in the morning to empty the bin, move it to another room to leave to hoover, get notified on the app when complete... rinse and repeat for as many places as needed!Great gadget I would never be without!

Excellent.
Great Vacuum, cleans really well if cleaning every other day. Easy to maintain. Easy to set up. Easy to use. Good suction. Isn’t brilliant at cleaning the edges but does a fair job. Suction on carpet is also good. Emptying the collection box and cleaning the filter is easy.

Keeps floors clean, forces you to be tidier too :)
Awesome when it works, there is a bit of a learning curve with furniture/items that might get it stuck.Would still highly recommend it though, as it is great at maintenance vacuuming.

Thorough little helper
The algorithm for room exploration is very good. Does a comprehensive job.I have it set on a daily job and it keeps the rooms tidy and pet hair free. I am always surprised at how much stuff it manages to pick up even on a daily run.

I wanted this bad boy for a very long time! I read lists of different products and I finally decided for this one. I am so impressed by how clean leaves the floors and how great the app is as well. The fact that I don't see fluff of dust flying on the floor is just a pleasure. I doubt could live without it now that he is part of the family

GREAT OPTION AND POWERFUL CLEANER
Very impressed with this machine. Intelligent functionality and intense cleaning on both hard floors and thick carpets. Can’t see why you need to pay the extra for the 980. Bin size is critical as this is what needs most of your attention while cleaning. Also looked at Dyson but the customer service experience was very poor. So good machine and good experience- this is a winner.

Day 2 and its back to the German techincal support
I may have been unlucky with my order based on others reviews. Initially the unit was not issued with a UK plug but did come with the EU plug. Seller advised me to procure a convertor / replacement cable which I slightly disagreed with having bought this from the UK website. Contacted Amazon UK who swiftly contacted the seller, who in turn paid for a new cable.Day 1. It was so easy to setup and go. The routine to connect to the iRobot was excellent hand holding from start to finish. Once charged for 3 hours we ran it to clean on the ground floor, covering 3 large rooms some smaller rooms on the same level. The surfaces included vynl, wood, carpet and deep rug with a minor ridge between the two main rooms. What appeared to me to be random 'drunk person' staggering home did cover all areas well, including curved edges to the kitchen units which I thought would be a problem. The rug was cleaned better than when I use the upright Dyson. It is hypnotic to watch, sadly, and after nearly an hour it returned to the base.Day 2. This is the reason I present this with 3 stars. It broke down - not much to add to this beisdes after spending the best part of £800 I would have hoped for a few more days before needing to call support. The problem was that it started to clean and then went around in a small circle thinking it had sensed an edge. Support were called and they issued a return to base for repair for free.Now, I've bought similar priced products where if it's a dud on day 2 a new one is issued and they collect the old one when leaving the new one. Here you have to label up, drop off at the post office and wait a further 10 days for it to be repaired and returned.When it returns I will edit following a few more days testing.The tracking from iRobot support ticket is good but took the full 10 days to have the unit returned.Day 12The iRobot was back in full operational mode and has continued to clean based on its schedule of events. The tracking of area cleaned is useful with it identifying areas it found dirt in. The function I find useful is cleaning the house when I’m away and it’s not scheduled to operate. One simple click on the Clean button on the app and off it goes, if only it could do the staircase as well....Day 180As time progresses you always find a more questions are now raised about this Roomba. Firstly, it's not broken down again. We've changed the rug in one room to a deeper, slightly higher edge, just over 1.2cm high. The Roomba now bounces onto the rug missing the very edge I wanted cleaning. Secondly the following items have caused the unit some challenges - shoes laces (not unique to this unit I know), similarly bag cords and narrow guage power leads (all of these could be easily caught up a manual vacuum cleaner with a careless operator - I would have thought there would have been some logic in their software, i.e. if the power to the movement motors and / or vacuum rollers and / or sweeping brush is increased by a percentage for more than 5 seconds then somethings gone wrong. Stop all motors and rewind activities and the same time reversing the path taken. I would estimate 30% of the time initially there were failures in completing a successful run. We now make the house Roomba friendly.Would I buy another Robotic Cleaner? - yes, without question.Would I buy another Roomba? - no, it cannot justify its price point with competition when it's not a perfect.
