This is a remarkably well thought out design it feels like a 2mm mechanical pencil and rests in the web of ones thumb but takes the shorter 1-.0.9mm leads. The huge long screw out rubber is not something I normally use but it is reassuring it's there - not like those tiny ones in other makes of technical pencil that basically are a bung filler for the spare lead tube..Mine came in shiny black which is more stylish than the trad GREEN . The grip is a bit too shiny and smooth so I might coat it with a dab of photo mount but it is in the right place for a long pencil people who complain in reviews they have to keep resetting the lead grade indicator are HOLDING THEIR PENCILS IN THE WRONG PLACE and should have been weaned off this constricted finger grip as small children. Writing and drawing should be done with the whole hand not the last finger joints.

Beautifully designed pencil, I was pleased to find a pencil in this lead size, and was intrigued by the dual functionality. If i am honest I don't really find much use for the cushioned mode; I should point out I use this pencil for writing and mathematics only, I do not draft with it so I may simply be ignorant of this feature.The pencil is quite nice to write with, however it has a rotatable lead type indicator (HB, 2B, B etc.) right at the tip of the pencil, I found this annoying as I hold all writing instruments quite close to the point, but it's easy enough to pull the orange cap off and get rid of the rotating cover bit.Good: Great design, interesting dual mode functionalityBad: Tricky to use if you write using the very tip of the pencil

perfect for writing, calculation and technical drawing. i would recommend it to any ingineer.

This is a piece of luxury. One can produce various line shades with ease.
