A terrific product for the less skilled of us who want aesthetically pleasing dovetail joints. Well manufactured and robust, easy to use.

It's worth spending a bit of time with this jig.
The jig arrived on Wednesday and I spent a frustrating day on Thursday trying to get used to it. By Thursday evening I was ready to cut my losses and throw it away.Today, however (Friday), I had a bit of a think and sorted out how to set the jig up and how to make it work for me.The photos above are of the second joint I made using a couple of scraps of pine.The next step is to make a box.All in all for £40 or so, I reckon this is a good jig.

OVER PRICED
A SMALL COMPACT DOVETAILER WHICH TOOK A WHILE TO ARRIVE. IT SEEMS STURDY ENOUGH BUT I THING IT IS A BIT PRICY FOR WHAT IT DOES. OTHER THAN THAT I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL WOOD WORKER AND I WILL NOT BE USING IT A LOT.

Results are very good!
I have made dovetails manually over the years but wanted to try a jig and this was at a very good price to try.I watched the videos and decided to have a go after learning the best way to use it, which was hard to get from the manual a bit easier from the video but once I had made 3 test joints I fully understood the setup and some limitations.Results are very good!It is best for blind dovetail joints only small limitation is you get one pitch but I can live with that

Good product but needs improving .
If you clamp too tightly the jig distorts and makes Joints sloppy and out of line. Will be buying the trend jig soon .

Don't buy
The shaft of the bit supplied is too short. You can see an image of a dovetail bit next to the length of shaft normally sold on Amazon and elsewhere. I had to by another bit with the correct width. The one and only time I used it the result can be seen in the attached photos. The jig was damaged. A careful look at the bit supplied with the jig shows that it has two bearings. I now know that both bearings are necessary to deal with the high chance that the bit will ride up in use. My bit had only one bearing, which caused the damage. Why such a short shank? How much money did it save them?Although there is a height adjustment for depth of cut on the jig the small size of any bit that will fir the jig renders this useless, as far as I can see.I am only averagely stupid and it seems to me that a caution about having two bearings should have been included in the instructions - if for not other reason than when buying a replacement jig. I also had to buy another bit. I read the instructions and watched the online videos but feel very disappointed in the result. It was an expensive mistake. I will go back to making my own jig out of wood as shown on other videos.
